I am very sorry for your loss. I have found it impossible for me to forgive certain people for certain Acts however, I have decided to accept what happened and accept the fact that they are who they are, regardless of whether I understand their mindset, persona, or motivations. Accepting the fact that the situation is what it is and those people are who they are has made coming to terms not really getting the closure that I wanted a lot easier, and it has made it possible for me to move forward in my healing process. Before I accepted what happened I was doing the state of denial and it made a lot harder because I was stuck within the anger but I got really tired of people telling me to forgive because forgiveness was not working for me. He causes even people who commit crimes like this to change. God takes those who are the worst of the worst, God takes those who are the bottom of society and uses them. Lifts them up. We have committed sins to God, crimes to God, like what this man tragically did, when he did that to that little girl (he commited crime and sin against God). We deserve eternal damnation. But God sent his One and only Son so that whoever believes (has genuine faith) in him will not perish but have everlasting life. People who are angry about that do not realize where they stand, where we all stand before God. At the foot of the Cross we are all sinners in need of salvation. That knowledge is where forgiveness comes from. Forgiving someone doesn't condone their sin and it doesn't mean they won't have natural consequences. (I think that's where the forgiveness opposers get tripped up). It simply means that you let go of vengefulness and realize that condemnation* is not up to you. That's God's job. *Not the same as judgment. I can judge that what the man did to the little girl is heinous sin but I don't get to summarily condemn him because I have no idea if he will repent. Without myself even knowing the victims or ever having anything remotely this evil happen to anyone I know, I wish for the worst to pass upon the murderer. I wish for him to never repent and never come to Christ, so that he may suffer eternal damnation. My desire for that fate is ugly and wrong. Most importantly, it is not what the Lord commands of me. Forgiveness is a powerful thing... Those who refuse to forgive will forever be tormented by the wrong someone has done. Every time you remember, it brings you pain. In most cases, the individual who committed the wrong probably doesn't care and is no longer not bothered by it. Sometimes the act of forgiveness may be the catalyst to change the life of the perpetrator.

I dunno, seeing someone suffer for what they did can be very relieving, IMO.
@KingEdmund4 жыл бұрын
@@Admiral_Bongo It still won't bring back your loss. Eventually the perpetrator will die and the 'suffering' will end. Yours however will continue due to the loss of your loved one. Besides, prisons these days are a luxury for some and it doesn't always put people on the right path after release. If you take a bunch of bad people and put them together, you're not going to get good results. They'll make friends.

@@KingEdmund Their violent death in prison can be arranged for a right price, though (don't tell me, that one would end up in prison, too, in most cases such deaths go unsolved), criminals are criminals, after all. As far as the loss goes, a complete realization that nothing can be changed, they can't be brought back no matter what and the best you can do is accept it and get on with your life can be very healing. Mourning is never helpful, all it does is make you cling to the past.
@KingEdmund4 жыл бұрын
@@Admiral_Bongo If you arrange for a criminal to be killed then you're no different to a criminal. People go to prison for such crimes. Now, for me, I disagree that I'll never see my loved ones again. If this life was all that there was, why don't we all end up killing like Hitler? From this world view, the actions of one criminal shouldn't really matter. At the end of the day, we'll all die and our actions will be forgotten. Even all our good works and the legacy we leave will be forgotten as generations pass. Life only has a purpose and meaning with God.

@@KingEdmund Well, I'm an atheist, to begin with, so that part of discussion hit a dead end, then. Music is what drives me right now, but some day I'll be worm food, too (unless I happen to live to the transhumanist era, although unlikely). As far as crimes against loved ones, I'd take those personally. Maybe, I'd understand if they were casualties of an armed robbery or a car accident, or something like that, but to be murdered in this fashion? I'd want the murderer to suffer the same fate. This is a powerful man. A true man of God, this blows my mind. This is what we are called to, but to forgive someone of something so horrible that is hard. I have mad respect for him! God is the Judge he said he gave it to God. He is a powerful God, he is a God of mercy and compassion, but he is a God of justice and his wrath will come. Pray to Jesus to come into your heart and to fill you with peace and forgiveness. This man is living his faith blows my mind.

okay, every thing in the world is forgivable, except any kind of torture because in that moment, the victim is literally begging you to stop and still even after hearing those cries u r doing what u r, there is no way u dont know what you are doing is wrong. murderes and killers are the max someoen can be forgived cuz that happens in one instance. i hope doing this gives him inner peace but that man doesnt deserve to be forgived.

This man is proof that people are capable of forgiveness and humans make mistakes. I see people celebrating revenge on such criminals but then applauding this father. Revenge, anger, jealousy are emotions that eat you up, they consume you and make you a monster. Forgiveness is harder but definitely more rewarding. His faith in god is what leads him, amen to that.

@@punmaster227 that matters is even worse with you feeling that way bro. I hope and pray that God truly changes your heart and mind my man. That’s the wrong mindset. & don’t get me wrong I feel you on being angry when no one is murdered innocently or murdered really for no reason with true cause,but God is calling us to Love for people & to not plot revenge or speak evil upon them,but to point them to Christ brother. Regardless of how you feel don’t let your selfish desires while on earth defeat your true purpose in living for the Almighty God in and through Christ Jesus by coming to true repentance man.

However revenge is not the way. I say to you. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

Nah I’m sorry. Usually statements of forgiveness in a courtroom will make me cry but not this one. 🍇ing a little girl is a level of evil and monstrosity that can never be comprehended. People who thinks this is something forgiveable are not fully grasping the gravity of what’s occurred.
