@@Lorenamaysingexactly. They tried. They also tried confiscating the guns in the house but were denied by a court and the father said his son would not be allowed near them. This isn't the first time a parent was charged for this. The mother of the 6 year old boy who shot his teacher got charged also and the prosecutor of that case said "this will set a precedent for all other similar cases." Well she was right. Parents will continue to be charged. Ill be honest I don't know how I feel about this. Of course a parent shouldn't be charged for the crimes they commit, unless they had a good reason to believe the crime would take place. Thats just standard law. If you know qbojt a potential threat and do nothing you can be held liable. If your son is being investigated by the fbi for threatening to shoot up a school, change schools. Allow 0 contact with firearms. Im not going to demonise the dad or blame him until further information comes out showing incompetence. We don't know anything yet. I will say the fbi did have suspicions that both father and son were on the discord where the initial threat was made but were unable to prove it. If that were true, I definitely would hold him accountable too

It's also so bizzare seeing people so adamantly state that the fbi should be charged because they knew about the threat (even though they tried in court to prove it and get the guns taken away but were not able to) yet they think the dad is completely innocent when he also knew about the threats and bought the gun for an under aged kid AFTER the threats were made.. thats why the dad is getting charged and not the mother. She wasn't believed to be in the same discord where the threat was made, she didnt buy a gun for a kid making threats to mass murder others..

Indeed. A rock-solid FACT. The question many ask is “how did he have the power to get Bush to drop what he was doing” The question I have is “what was his leverage?” Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert recounted an incident in 2009 where he called President George W. Bush during a speech in Philadelphia. Olmert insisted on speaking with Bush immediately, despite Bush being in the middle of a speech. According to Olmert, Bush got off the podium and spoke to him, and Olmert persuaded him to instruct the U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, to abstain from a UN Security Council vote on a Gaza ceasefire resolution, which Rice had been preparing to support. This story sparked some controversy and criticism, especially regarding U.S. foreign policy and Olmert’s bold claims…

Conservatives prove they aren’t much smarter than liberals. We know what mk ultra is, we know that the fbi sets these things up. How hard would it be to take out troublesome people by conditioning their kids to kill someone? Not hard is the answer. We need to stop infantilizing our teens, they are old enough to drive, to consent to sex, to get a job, but the parents are responsible for what they do? So if a 14 year old has sex with a 30 year old, guess it’s the parents fault and they’ll be brought up on statutory R charges… it’s like you people are too dense to see where the psychos at the top are trying to lead us.

@WTFBUTWHY You'd be the equivalent of a drug dealer. "I just sold him the drugs. I didn't make him take it and I had no idea he was going to commit a crime". It just doesn't wash. In the example you gave, you'd be not only responsible for supplying alcohol to a minor and being a sh!tty parent but also not stopping them from using the car while drunk or even playing Russian roulette with your loaded handgun. If they just drove off you could still dial 911 and report a young, drunk minor on the road. If they were apprehened before they killed someone, you might still get charged by the police for supplying a minor with alcohol. Parents need to take responsibility for their children. That includes teaching them how to behave and setting a good example for them with your own behaviour. People have no morals or standards of behaviour anymore and won't take responsibility for anything, not even their kids. No wonder America is in such a sorry state today. The legal guardians of minors who commit criminal acts should also be charged with a lesser charge as an accessory (or whatever) and get a criminal record. Even if they just get probation. They need to realise this is serious sh!t.

It's absolutely reckless and irresponsible for a father to buy a gun for his child to possess under the guise of "hunting purposes." If the intent was to create a father-son bonding moment while hunting, where the father allows the child to use his gun strictly under supervision-that's an entirely different scenario. But buying a gun for an underage kid to have full possession is an outrageous lapse in judgment and lack of accountability from the father. Take my own experience in Russia as an example. My father let me drive on country roads near my grandmother's house in the village of Tolbazy at 9 years old, not because he was giving me free reign over a car, but to teach me how to drive in a controlled environment. It was a bonding experience, but always under his full supervision. He didn't hand me the keys and let me do as I pleased... In the case of the father whose son shot up a school, he failed to uphold the responsibility that comes with owning firearms. Claiming that the gun was for "hunting" doesn’t hold weight when the kid had free access to it. This is a clear disregard for gun safety, especially with a child involved and in the hindsight of the innocent lives lost. The father should absolutely be held accountable for this tragic outcome due to his irresponsible decisions.
@Maetaaaaaa

I agree with you 1000%. It kind of seems like he was giving his son leniency (the gun for example, as a gift) to probably subconsciously make up for the abuse he was putting him through. I've spent my fair share of time in those parts, the backwoods of small-town Georgia and beyond. I even grew up right around the corner. Good folks live there, salt of the earth types. But you’d be hard-pressed to find someone without a past that’s tangled up with some trouble-whether it’s run-ins with the law, struggles with addiction, or violence. Education’s not always been a priority either. Plenty never made it past high school, and those who did often barely scraped by. But still, most folks are just trying to live their lives, raise their families, and do right by one another. There’s a lot of love and neighborly support for others in these areas. What’s been weighing on my mind lately, though, is hearing about that boy - how he'd apparently been sitting on these extremely dark thoughts for a very long time. It’s hard to wrap your head around how a kid can carry that kind of darkness instead of shaking it off like most young folks. Then, for it to fester until it finally spills over into something terrible. People say it a lot, but I truly believe the younger generation is in the middle of a mental health crisis like we’ve never seen. And that’s the hardest part to grasp, considering they’re growing up in what should be the easiest time in human history to live.

Diamonds are made through extreme pressure. Likewise, good strong humans are made the same. American(western) children have it soo easy that they never develop. No chores, given everything they want, parents drop everything to pander to them. They’ve been raised to think the world revolves around them and have little to no personal growth. I was bullied as a kid, my brother was bullied, hell, most people I know were bullied. You might decide to take yourself out of the ‘game’ of life, but you never considered taking out others. How long before we find out what chemical cocktail this kid was on? Because that is one of the common denominators. That and the FBI knowing about it and allowing it to happen for political agenda. If we are too stupid to see we are being led to a certain outcome, we deserve our shackles.
