0:48 the fact that you didn't cheese that pattern made me really happy for some reason
@osuplaeyurreallygood2 жыл бұрын
i mean, he kinda did though didn't he? the pattern is in a triangle shape but he moves his cursor in a circular shape, if the triangles were more spaced out it would be much more difficult to hit it if he moved his cursor like that
@MMenyan2 жыл бұрын
@@osuplaeyurreallygood true though sometimes people do just flow aim triangle, square etc jumps

"interpretive dance game"... That's actually perfect. I've always likened the cursor movement to dancing in a way as it obviously requires rhythm as well (provided the map is any decent).

I'm really glad to hear proper analogy of osu!std being a rhythm game because I've had a hard time proving that point to some other people. More over that we can also say that most of the maps are already done created by following only rhythm because objects are snapped to any of 1/1 1/2 1/3 1/4 1/6 1/8 1/12 1/16 beat, so these maps force you to see them rhythmical (even without music turned on maps themself are rhythm based) and they can't be anyhow assigned to a random 2D circle shooter.

I think there are four types of aim actually Snap aim [circle jumps and such] Flow aim [streams and such] Tech aim [the two mixed together with the cursor speed changes and inconsistency of snap aim and the stream-like structure and control of speed needed for flow aim] Flow jumps [the two mixed together with the consistency and speed of flow aim and the distance between patterns of jumps] I didnt know what else to call the last one but for examples of it.... just look at sink to the deep sea world and bookmaker

I was always being told that it was dumb to switch to only playing 6 star maps as a 5 star player because it doesn't help, after a couple of months I was able to play and pass a ton of very difficult 6 star maps where people who were better than me rank wise couldn't. I also improved a lot in jumps, streaming and stamina, tho this didn't imrpove my consistency which is something you can work on when you are very confident in one difficulty. But what makes me happy a lot is that a very good osu player shows that playing maps which are barely passable for an individual is actually very helpful and proves me that my decision on quitting playing this game for pp and instead playing this game to have a challenge was the right one. Thank you, enjoyed watching this video very much

To me at least, I see an better analogy with playing the violin. Your left hand controls the fingering rhythm on the violin itself, while the right hand controls the bow. With the bow, there is a dimension of rhythm that is similar to aim, taking into consideration placement, angles, up down strokes, bouncing on the strings, etc.

This is why I and many others just considered Osu! an arcade game, not because of it's fundamentals, but also because of the mappings styles with rhythms, it's almost never a 1:1 representation of the song because of sliders counting for 2 or more beats for one click

I would still consider osu a rhythm game like everything else except that it is abit more free form maybe?but still strong and weak beats etc are still emphasised for most part in different ways . while mania might do it by you having to click multiple buttons at same time osu does it by increasing spacing etc.

But bubbleman their is a problem related to the last three words you say. This is 100% true if you enjoy something you improve much faster. Problem is if I want to learn hard rock I try but I fail and after few attempts it becomes boring and not fun any more. So like that it will be very to hard to learn it. Right?
