@Tonehhosu4 жыл бұрын
EDIT: Just to clarify, this video is NOT MADE AS GENERAL GUIDANCE FOR IMPROVEMENT - it's aimed at those who can't stream/burst/struggle with acc/fingerlock loads as osu beginners, and so the specific process I've described helps revert the bad mistakes. But after this training process, you don't have to FC 98% every single map you play! Explore more challenging maps, get bad accuracy on those hard maps - it's a key part to improving at the game and that's fine! But this video is addressed at those who are playing maps way beyond their skill level 24/7 and in particular, those maps are limited to 1 skill only so they won't ever think about exploring other maps - I am trying to get them out of this tunnel vision. Also I don't hate farm maps, just look at my top plays lol OLD EDIT: I know I said leave a comment down below but I really didn't expect this video to blow up! If I can’t respond to all of your questions here, I can answer all of your queries in the discord. Hi everyone! It's actually been so long since I've last uploaded a video - a whole month! My subscriber count has literally doubled since then despite my lack of uploads recently, so thank you so much!!

(Not a doc, but here’s some advice from my experiences for anyone reading this) I’ve played drums for a very long time (10+ years with 3 DCI and 1 WGI tour) and, while osu and drums use very different muscles, they’re both mechanically based around doing repetitive motions, to which a few key health principles universally apply. For most people, joint locking is the result of a long-term RSI from practicing too much, too tensely. 1. Most important thing is to relax first, THEN build speed and control. Try repositioning your arm, chair, desk, and keyboard until you find a position where you feel as little tension in your hand, arm, shoulder, and back as possible. Make sure you maintain a healthy posture. If you have bad posture look around online for exercises to help fix it. Use as little force as possible to hit your keys and try to keep the tapping motion as efficient as possible, wasting no movement. Try subtlety twisting your wrist back and forth when you alternate instead of just relying on your finger muscles, this will help with fatigue as well as increasing your max tapping speed over time. The above changes to your technique will almost definitely hurt your playing short-term as you will be going against your muscle memory as well as using entirely different muscles, but as you develop the muscles in your arm and hand it will give you a level of freedom and speed you’ve likely never felt before. 2. Second most important (and the harder of the two) is to limit your playtime. Stop playing BEFORE things start hurting. It took me a very long time to understand that if I wanted to continue drumming and gaming for the rest of my life then I’d have to prioritize my health over “just playing one more map.” Even if you are playing with PERFECT technique there’s only so much tapping a human body can do in one day without needing a break. Learn your limit and learn to respect it. All the best! Click those circles!

im not really saying to fully stop farming, sure you can farm, but prioritize your skills first. once you have better skills, you can farm all your liking but also not to forget improving your skills alongside farming
@vynmo61144 жыл бұрын
I mean if you enjoy the game by farming, then you should farm as much as you want. I've been playing since Jan 2019 and I'm at 17k, and what's most fun for me besides playing Camellia/Psyqui maps is farming, but farming does get you places. A year ago, I could not stream 140bpm, but I wanted to farm stream maps, so I dedicated a lot of time practicing streams, and now I can farm pretty much whatever 170-180bpm stream map I want. I ended up becoming a more well-rounded player by playing for pp. I think too many people say "enjoy game" when they mean to stop farming, as if people don't enjoy the game by farming and improve by doing so.

If your accuracy is reasonably good acc (I’d say 96+% is good) and you have low 4 star maps as your top plays, start going to the mid 4 star range. If you’re getting bad acc, go back to even lower stars (mid 3-star or high 3-star) Try to get better acc there and once you’re FCing them consistently with good acc, you can move up in star rating. Just repeat the process. Though, over time, you will notice a considerable drop in improvement rate but just remember, it will not take a few days to improve, it may take weeks or months as the difficulty goes up. (Also, I’m a six-digit and I don’t think I’m completely qualified to say this, but this is generally what I’ve seen from any improvement video)

I 100% agree with all of this. I started out as some guy who just enjoyed playing osu with friends in the 2-3 star region. 3 star maps were so hard for me but I enjoyed being able to beat them. Then I got into 4 stars because one friend of mine was able to beat them so easily. After passing them, somehow, at around 5 stars, I immediately realized that this game required several skill sets, but since aim was the most accessible and common one, I decided to build that one up first. The realization for the "different skillsets" thing was with the map "Tower of Heaven", one of the most stream-heavy 5* maps out there. I'm currently a 40k rank player who can fc 6-6.5 star maps with 95%-100% acc, and am working more on higher bpm and stream maps. I recently passed my first 8 star with about 85% acc, actually, because I'd been practicing small bursts in 240 bpm, along with jumps similar! Building different skillsets is so important that I can't stress it enough, thank you for this video, I still have a long way to go when it comes to being a great player, but this video gives me some clues as well. I can only imagine how beneficial it would be to beginners who want to improve at the game in general, rather than only one aspect of it. I've been playing on&off since 2016 btw

i can honestly say that you saved my osu gameplay, 1,5 month ago i was jump player with super acc 90.5%, i downloaded maps from your pack and started grinding from 1* to 4* all maps for 97% fc, and in a few days i was feeling like newborn, and i changed my mindset from "click the circle" to "click the circle to the beat" and it helped me a lot, i didnt stop farming, but my farming nowadays isnt pushing stars limit, like 10219 stars with full combo and 80%acc, but more like 98/99% on low stars like 4.5-5.5(yeah it still is strange for me that i say that 5* is my comfort zone and i can 98%fc a lot of 5* maps when month ago i was playing 5* with 80%acc only for combo). After like 2 weeks my acc started going up, my stream and burst ability is also in pretty good condition, i started to see that in easy maps like 4.7* my unstable rate is close together at the center. My acc was getting better day by day, i was playing multiplayer lobby with discord friends, multi lobby with host rotation and like 30 minutes per day i farmed some generic farm maps in a month my acc went from 90.5% to 95% and i feel confident with my acc on maps. Today i decided to finally make a day only for farming DT maps, my rank just jumped in one day from 180k to 160k and acc from 95% to 96%. I can say that is because you was a spark to ignite my change to a better player

It's 2024, I'm a new player, I started the game completely new playing 1.5-2.5 star maps. Nothing really of concern. Just getting hang of the controls. I also have a 2.6 star map that I really wanna just pass. It's mostly a jump map, and some doubles which was what threw me off so early. Played a lot and cleared the 2.6 star map for the first time, it felt great and now at this day I have a 97& acc FC that was tough. then the next "boss map" I played was funnily enough freedom dive the 3.3 star map, turns out the HP drain is too forgiving but I played it for acc, my goal was to get 80% acc at the very least, took a bit and now to this day I have a 92% acc on it. There's Kokou no Sousei, one of my favorite maps, it's the 3 star version. I started out only getting 2mil on lazer, my goal was to get 3 mil and then 4 mil, at this day I have a 97% or so acc on it with 6.6 mil. So you get the picture, I just like playing for score or acc, I don't play to be an aim god or just play to get PP. I play just to have fun and just see my "stats" I guess go up as I improve. Now as time of writing this, I have 930pp, and I'm a 6 digit, all inactive accounts got nuked. and just yesterday I was 1.1 mil rank, and probably down to 1.0 mil if the nuke hasn't happened. But I'm 700k right now. But now I just got my first 4 star pass, I'm not really a burst or stream player, I can do them I'm just meh at them. Not my playstyle, but I didn't skip out on the basics, I'm also a singletapper only alting during fast bursts or streams. And I only play songs I really like and that are fun. I don't play pp farm maps just to get pp. I just play the game to enjoy it. I've been playing for about 4 months now and went from a 1.8 or so star player to being like a 3.7 or so star player. I'm happy with my progress. And it's been fun.

This actually helped me a lot, i started looking more into what i was doing wrong, especially playing Hard Rock on all maps. It didnt help me at all because I couldnt read maps properly, and my acc was so low. I just started changing and im having more fun now, got no more fingerlocks, i can do streams properly now, my acc improved, im happy I honestly dont care about pp, pp farming shouldnt be a concern for beginners. Im more into just having fun but i also was getting frustrated everytime i cant do a map especially a map i like, changing my habits actually made me enjoy playing instead of just playing instead of playing an easy map 100 times

about ~20 days ago I started playing osu again after almost 2 years when I had 90% accuracy and could play high 3-4 stars. now my skill is so messed up that I couldn't finish some 3.5 star maps and had around 84% on lower 3 stars. I realized that it's a serious problem that I can't just overcome after playing fifteen high 3 star maps, so I decided to start from the very beginning, but also deleting everything shorter than 3 minutes, and making numerous copies of 2 stars maps that I have with CS 7 or AR 9 and spamming them, trying to get a fc or as least amount of 100/50 as I can. And I think this works since when I play something now I played then I get almost half as much hundreds and fifties compared to my results from like an august 2019 play. I know I have a long way to go, plus I came to the conclusion that I want to start playing with my tablet that I barely used back then, so this way is even longer, but I hope I'll come back to my low 4 stars maps with 95+% accuracy sooner or later.
