Mustafa and Bayezid gets angry because Suleiman supports Selim. While Hürrem gets worried because of Bayezid's commintment to Mustafa, the commitment between two brothers gets stronger since Bayezid asks for help from his brother. However, Rüstem has a new plan for Mustafa.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Yes not good writing.... But it underlines Suleiman's paranoid character at least... P.S: One of the many historical reasons why this poor (historical) Mahidevran was endlessly insulted despite being very smart and deserving. Suleiman should have given a fair chance against the fratricide of the law even if I understand why he prefers Hurrem. He wants her to be his advisor and allows her to listen to the Divan . Agree, but failing that, he should have let Mahidevran also listen to or, when she is in the provinces, give him a detailed report ( even if would be impossible to a point as he become more mistrutful to Mustafa because of his mistakes). But no once again he insults her publicly in the face of the world (Mahidevran and Turhan shared the common fact of being clever but publicly insulted by their Sultan (who insults their concubines in their own way) even if Turhan in the end was able to be Valid and have her son safe and sound unlike Mahidevran and had to deal with a madman incompetent very unpredictable like Sultan Ibrahim)

❗️❗️In Real History Suleiman allowed Hurrem to attend Divan Meetings though. “” Hurrem Haseki broke the glass ceiling for royal women and started Era of Sultanate of Women. Her story is an inspiring look at how one woman can bring so much influence and change to a leader and an empire, even if husband stands behind you! Hurrem’s power in the Sultan’s court grew stronger with every passing year. As Navagero wrote in 1553, “there has not been in the Ottoman house a lady that has had more authority.” Her authority showed not only in her firm grip over Suleiman’s heart but also in her ability to compete with the male rivals in Suleiman’s court, and to be a skillful sovereign and ruler. Suleiman the Magnificent repeatedly came to her for counsel and even appointed her as his State Advisor in foreign affairs, which allowed her to act as a diplomat with foreign powers. Also, it’s recorded by history that she was official Divan member, attending meetings, voting, listening to males and taking part of the meetings “under the dome”, which is called the Kubbealtı. Only men were doing this before her. Hurrem also had a seal, that allowed her to correspond to MALE rulers and kings around the world. Before that females of the empire were only allowed to correspond with female rulers (like empress or queen : Russia and England) or princesses. Hurrem acted as a diplomat with foreign powers through her letters using the title of Shah (queen), from the day she became first and only wife of Padisah in Ottoman history. It is seen that his signature is always referred to as " The State of İsmetlu Hürrem Shah Sultan Aliyyetü'ş-Şân". Hurrem also ruled the empire when Sultan was away on wars, signing important documents on his behalf and receiving diplomats and foreign ambassadors. Hurrem was a keen advisor to Suleiman in political matters, particularly when he was absent from Istanbul on his numerous military campaigns. She regularly sent letters to the Sultan, in which, in addition to expressing her great love and longing for him, she also informed him of the situation in the capital and of any events that required his immediate attention or action. In being thus vigilant, Hurrem protected Suleiman’s interests and contributed to the success of his reign. There is no doubt that Suleiman trusted her more than he did his male advisors. Hurrem is known to have been very generous to the poor. Not only did Hurrem Sultan exercise unprecedented influence on state politics as Suleiman’s chief advisor and diplomat with foreign powers, but she was also fully devoted to philanthropy. Hurrem’s charitable work surpassed any of Ottoman women in volume and geographic reach. Danica, your description is good, only you shouldn`t confuse hystory of DIFFERENT countries. Especially, don`t confuse female roles of Turkish, English and Russian etc. rulers. :) Russia had a great female ruler already in the first millenium A.D. :). And later ANY Russian female emperess had exactly the same rights as men had, and even more so. For ex., the time of Ekaterina the Great`s reign is called by many the Golden time of Russian empire. And obviously Hurrem was that powerful also because she was a Russian (Russian speaking, Slavic) strong and intelligent woman, a daughter of priests, meaning that she had a rare at those times opportunity of getting good education. Besides the fact that she had an extraordinary fate. :) So, the Russian woman brought revolution primarily for Turkish women rulers. :) And even after her death there was no other woman ruler in Turkey that could be compared to her in personal achivements, brightness and athority, and it goes on till this very day! :)
