I watched this movie, first on my own, then later with my millennial daughter. Loved it both times. Daughter loved it. Chris Cringle and his missus have great chemistry. The film was engaging, brutal and funny. Loved how it unfolded. We were expecting tropes and we were pleasantly surprised at the lack of them. A fun movie overall. Ordering the DVD to add to our Christmas collection.

Watched it last night. It’s a great movie and very well done. It’s different. It’s dark. Life is not always favorable & while we must make choices, "Naughty & Nice" kids R 2 sheltered teaching them that life is more than just, "GOOD TIMES" it is also part of our responsibilities 2 them & much like music, foods, religions, just because they R there & we acknowledge them doesn't mean we must like them, respect the differences in life. This movie in all of it's "hypes and gripes" is just a look in2 the human side of Santa a little "HUMANITY" not just the myth of the man but some reality. Mel Gibson himself has been on both the, "Naughty and Nice" list over the years. After 2020 this is what maybe we all need a little taste of & deserve. Also the trailer incorporates that classic horror trope of reworking a happy sounding tune into something dark & moody. In this instance, it’s ‘Jingle Bells’ that sounds like it was sung by the twins from The Shining & produced by Marilyn Manson. Safe 2 say we won’t be listening 2 that 1 the same way this year. If you stick with it until the end, you will see a unique twist on “Santa magic” (watch for the glow) and a uniquely different but very impactful message about “being good”.
