And little did she know, a few months after posting this video, we’d all be “staying home” 😂. These blocks are adorable

Am I the only one who think this is the cutest quilt ever? Is there a chance to open a shop in Italy? We’re really in need here 😂😂😂😍

How well do paper pieced quilts do after they are washed/dried? Are they more fragile than normal pieced quilts?
@FatQuarterShopTX5 жыл бұрын
For paper pieced quilts, they will behave just like other quilts. The paper is removed prior to quilting. If anything, the seams may be stronger because you have used a shorter stitch length with the foundation paper.

I have my kit, but was cautioned to wait until corrections were made.... I see this was week 2. Does this mean I can do week 1 and week 2 without any pattern problems?

I’m curious as to why you use the piece of card stock to fold. I’ve always seen people use the thin side of the add a quarter ruler for folding. Are you just trying to create more of a ledge for the ruler when you trim? I’ve never had an issue with my ruler moving but I’m fairly new to FPP so I want to make sure I’m using the best techniques. Thank you

Hi, I found that the thin side of the ruler was too thick. I don't think it matters too much it's just personal preference. Both methods will work.

the cardstock makes a 'ledge' for the Add a 1/4" ruler to butt up against...for accurate cutting..

I bought the pattern quiet a while ago and did not download the house patterns. Is there anyway I can get them. Thank you so much.

I know how to FPP, but don't like it very much... Does the pattern also have instructions for traditional piecing? If not, that's okay, I'm just curious. I wonder if you oversized the skinny pieces, then cut down the blocks to size (after they were sewn), would it fix the issues she was having with distortion? Regardless, SUPER cute quilt.
@polkadotchair5 жыл бұрын
Hi! No, it's just FPP. I couldn't get the chimneys right with traditional piecing. Also the skinny pieces kept getting messed up since they were so small.

@@polkadotchair Thanks so much for responding! My biggest issue with FPP is when the seams start becoming so numerous that my machine struggles (and I want to throw tools against a wall). :) This doesn't appear to have all that seaming nightmare I've encountered in the past. Again, really appreciate your response as I'm such a HUGE fan of all your work!
@polkadotchair5 жыл бұрын
@@SmittenKitten. Oh thanks :) - there aren't many overlapping seams so I think you'll be ok with your machine, but let me know if you have a problem!

I love quilts and this one is very nice .... but though staying at home sounds like a good idea if you have a family, I much prefer to have a job and be able to survive than to trust men to keep me safe, happy, well provided for and treated ... in fact I much prefer to be single than to take any chance with my life ..... and except for a few rare cases where we know we will never be betrayed, I do not see how it can be otherwise .... love and marriage are very risky and on more than one level. Quilting and other activities are not so risky and a job is a much surer way to survive and be safe than family
