Nice video Breadley. As a longtime veteran of this game, one piece of advice I can give is to complete the advanced training. Sefoni will explain how certain mechanics work on a deeper level, and the basic training simply does not cover enough to be helpful in my opinion. For now, just focus on getting used to the controls and how your weapons function. Dodging for example is mandatory and is something you NEED to learn how to do if you want to attempt other difficulties. You will notice with time that enemies have unique audio callsigns and learning the sound of specific threats is a major part of the game. Where you hit your target matters greatly, as each individual body part has their own resistance depending on the weapon you hit them with. This is another reason why it is a good idea to do advanced training, as it explains the difference in hitting certain types of armored enemies and how to deal with them.

Thank you for tuning in! And thank you for the advice. This is exactly what I was looking for! Advanced training is next on the list and I totally forgot there even was a dodge so I definitely need to get used to all the mechanics.

Well said. Also don't worry about some meta with weapons. Find what feels good to you. More important to make your shots and maneuver with melee.

What the gentlemen said about listening to call signs. Certain monsters attack you based on it, and many times you'll need to dodge instinctively to avoid said monsters cc attacks. Your team being the crowd.

Ohhh gotcha! I could definitely hear the call signs during my first mission now that you both mention it! Also thanks for the advice on the weapons! Really excited to jump deeper into this game

@@akabreadley As another Darktide vet, @PimPim-p5y is right on the money. If I could add 3 more things: as a zealot, your primary weapon is your melee. Generally speaking, you want to pull your ranged weapon out to solve specific problems that your melee can't, but the melee should be your primary tool. Secondly, don't worry at all about crafting until you're either level 30 or close to it. Just use whatever the best weapon drops from missions are. Thirdly, try not to just hoover up all the ammo if you have a veteran or gunner ogryn on your team, they're very reliant on ammo pickups. If you're ok on ammo, tag it so they can take it. If you're interested in other classes, generally speaking here's what they're about: Veteran: Gun. It's all about the gun. This is the class for those that want to play a FPS instead of a melee-focused game. Also they have the best ability in the game (shout). Psyker: All sorts of weird and wonderful magic, from head-popping individual enemies at infinite range, magic flames, lightning that stuns everything around them, etc. They have to balance using these very powerful abilities carefully as they explode themselves if they're not careful and just spam. Ogryn: There are 2 types of Ogryn: a heavy gunner weapons platform to lay down huge amounts of gunfire, or tanky heavy melee that sits in the middle of enemy hordes and uses heavy attacks to stagger everything. Finally, hope you enjoy the music. Jesper Kyd created some absolute bangers in the soundtrack.

Cool video. Some tips: in higher difficulties there will be less ammo and more enemies so you will run out of it if you blast everything. A good rule of thumb is to shoot only specialist/elite enemies and ranged enemies. If you can kill something in melee, just save ammo. All the classes rely heavily on their ability (RB) and you should use it any time you can get any value out of it since the cooldown is quite short. On Zealot you can charge quite far if you target an enemy. You can try holding RB and highlight the enemy you want to charge. The charge will stun enemies you hit and the attack after using charge will also be a guaranteed critical hit dealing a lot more damage. You will also generate 50% toughness when charging and youre immune to ranged attack during the charge. So for example, if youre pinned down by a gunner and take toughness damage, look at the gunner, charge and kill it in one hit. Heavy attacks work better on armored enemies.

Oh I love this, thank you for the tips! That's good to know about the charge as well, it briefly told me in the basic training but I wasn't aware of the utility it can provide.
