Basically all of the named Lizardmen characters have had some insane feat they achieved or legendary stand they held, to the point it's almost comical. Nakai for example (the only named Kroxigor character) held a bridge alone during the Cataclysm (the first coming of chaos, when demons could effectively manifest and resurrect themselves infinitely) against untold thousands of demons, killing literally every one of them. He held them off so long they weren't ever able to push past him, all the way until the elves created the maelstrom and pushed Chaos back once and for all. In the aftermath the demons were so traumatized by that battle that even today they refuse to cross the bridge because they're worried Nakai will pop out of the jungle and commit historical reenactment.

My head Canon for what happened to Felix in AoS is that he's still alive, not a Stormcast, but very much on the level of a Stormcast and he's currently mucking about with Makkaisson. How did they survive? Because Makkaisson made his ship a magical force field that was able to survive the realm of Chaos into the mortal Realms. Now there is a ship of old World survivors (probably including Felix's wife, daughter and nephew) roaming Ghur.
@YOGI-kb9tg20 сағат бұрын
Few issues with that 1. Felix was trapped underground in a cave in when the world was ending. 2 AoS takes an indeterminate amount of time between fantasy and AoS it could be thousands to millions of years before the start of AoS lore. 3 AoS isn't in the same spot as fantasy so unless makkaisons airship can fly in space all the way to where AoS is there gone as well. 4 it's a bit iffy but in ghoulslayer gotrek speaks to what is supposed to be the spirit of Felix telling gotrek to move on and gotrek by the end of the novel thinking it could have been a trick has come to terms that Felix is long gone. I would love to see Felix back but unless as a stormcast he doesn't really fit as his destiny was fulfilled at the end of gotrek and Felix series and also Felix being a stormcast would be very underwhelming what made gotrek and Felix so good together wasn't just there dynamic but because Felix was are view point as someone we can relate to. Being a stormcast would break this it's the same issue with malineth while I liked her in AoS gotrek you NEED a human companion that isn't some super assassin or sigmarines they can be good as side companions but having a normal human is much better and one of the reasons I really liked AoS blightslayer and looks forward to verminslayer.

@YOGI-kb9tg 1) He hears digging from above. 2) Time flows differently for everyone in the realm of Chaos that's why Gotrek is still going. 3) Refer to how the realm of Chaos warps time and space, which is how Gotrek enters from the Warp still looking the same. 4) Everyone has been using Felix to either manipulate or throw Gotrek off. 5) There is an alley way in a city in Ghur called Jaeger lane after a "heroic revolutionary poet who was there". My opinion is that Felix isn't diverse enough and the Black Library writers wanted Gotrek to have a more "diverse" sidekick, so far Maleneth, the Sigmarite Priestess and the lad from Edassa (who I actually liked) who became a Stormcast. Remember Snorri in Shysh said he has seen everyone except Felix.

That and the Slann making the elves looks like novice wizards, with Lord Kroak being so powerful that death for him is always optional even after a chunk of a warpstone moon fall on him. Maybe that's why the Old Ones left. They were scared off by the sheer power of Lord Kroak and collapsed the polar gates, let Chaos into the world, and hoped it would kill him. Ubersreiks new Guard found out about his modus operandi so he had to hide with the halfling bakers guild mafia for a while, it was a whole thing. Immortal super soldiers, blood shot eyes and foaming at the mouth Imagine a movie where a penal colony ship is boarded by a world eaters vessel. You follow the perspective of someone who has to duck and hide every corner. You hear the feeble shrieks of the inmates, drowned out by the blood curdling screams of the 7” fall demons who bear the mark of blasphemy

I've always been of the opinion that Transhuman dread isn't just the fear of big thing move fast. It's the inherent unease of being around a 10ft tall inhuman psychotic killing machine. You don't know what it'll do in the time it takes you to blink. You don't know if it cares whether you're friend or foe, but what you know for a fact is that kneeling on a Termagant and picking off its legs one my one while giggling inanely is not normal behavior. It's the terror of knowing that the only thing stopping this abomination from ripping you limb from limb is what it's been programmed to hate today, and there's literally nothing you can do about it. Worse, you have to revere it.

Really wish that Gotrek and Felix got a TV show that is like a dark buddy cop comedy, with Brian Blessed as Gotrek and Michael Fassbender as Felix, with David Wenham as Thanquol. After which, the Slaanesh daemon Tz’arkan, in no small terms or attempt to hide his fear, demanded Malus never fight the two again. To say nothing of Teclis how is terrified of Gotrek. Imagine if Gotrek and Felix were in other settings like Lotr, the Silmarillion, Narnia, the books Black Cauldron is based off, Witcher, Wrinkle in Time, GoT/Song of Fire and Ice, or DND? Now imagine how many problems and horrible events would have never happened as result? Side note; We should have gotten a 3 part story about Gotrek and Felix ending up at Naggarond and freeing a imprisoned Shen Zoo. What follows is the trio going across Naggarond, Lustria, Ulthwan, the Southlands, The Tomb Kings domain, Araby Bretonnia, the Empire, the holds of the Karaz Ankor, and finally Cathay. Getting various companions from each place and faction as well as meeting named characters like Grimgor, Settra, Teclis again, Greasus, Thorgrim, Grombrindol, Alith Anar, Tyrion, Volkmar, Malekith, Ghorth the Cruel, Astragoth, The Von Carstiens, Alberic of Bretonnia, Zhao, Miao, Makaison, Kat, Ulrika, Max, etc. Why we never got this trilogy is throughly beyond me.

Holy shit i had no idea Aenarion was so horrifying! That bit about the *Chaos Gods* telling him not to pull the sword is so unbelievably awesome. And i do think they were truly scared of him, not just worried about his power. Belakor and Vashtor were/are wannabe Chaos Gods, and the Four treated them like upstarts to be swatted down, not threats to be dealt with. But to have the gods, especially Slaanesh, try and stop him shows that, if he didn't eventually put down the sword, he could have well and truly been a threat to their power.

Fun facts from the novels and army books about the elves, because I also love them, especially in the Fantasy, Fair warning, its pretty long, but few topics in one comment will be. 1.I think Morathi or some other very old elf in Malekith's novel said that, had Aenerion not die and return the Sword of Khaine, he would be effectively immortal god among mortals, as it took 4 chaos gods to kill him before he grew too powerful, and dying of old age isn't raelly a thing for the elves. (that itself is questionable, since we have examples like Hellebron being old crone at 5k years of age, but then we got Morathi, Malekith and few other elves who are hitting 10k and look younger than your mother) 2. We know from Malekith's novel that while Aenerion was still alive and in charge, not only did he personally train Malekith, he also made him the warden of Nagarythe. Yep, after taking the sword of Khaine, while Aenerion was putting to death anything that made him angry in what would become Naggaroth in 2k years, Melekith was actually ruling Nagarythe and fighting an actual war against daemons, while his step siblings, Yvraine and Morelion, were chilling and hiding in Avelorn with the treemen. This kinda explains why elf nobles did not want him to become the next phoenix king. It was time for peace, but Malekith was literally born during the war against chaos and grew up during it. Even ignoring Khaine's curse, Malekith never really knew or experienced what a real peace is, and even after the war he went on a crusade against beastmen, orcs and other things when creating elf colonies. Even after that, when he pretty much conquered the world, he went to the Chaos Wastes in search for a good scrap, and when coming home, he defeated Morathi's rebellion, then started a civil war, and then built an entire nation with only one purpose in mind, wage more war. It wasn't until the AoS that he seems to have chilled out as a god. 3.We know jack shit about what his siblings did other than Yvraine beiing the Everqueen and therefore opposing him during the war, while Morelion had a daughter whose great granddaughter became queen of Laurelorn Forest. 4. With some basic logic, we can see that Malekith outlived 4 generations of his family own, including his own, while Morathi actually witnessed 5 or even 6 generations (if also we include her parents/elf who lived before the great war), making Malekith great great granduncle of Tyrion, Teclis, Marrisith and all other descendants of Aenerion. 5. The 8th edition, in a desperate attempt to retrcon the 6th's edition lore about Malekith shagging his mom, implied that Malekith used to invoke the Prima Nocta right with druchii noble daughters in some twisted rivalry with N'Kari, effectively making most of dark elf noble families related to him in one way or another, so while he does not have any official children, unofficially in the lore, he is the biggest manslut of the family, while Morathi herself is a great,great,great, grandma of druchii nobility.

One thing about Space Marines is the noise and the power when they move. In Space Marine games it's almost perfect how loud their mere footsteps are, when you start running the screen starts shaking. Thanqual is so powerful that even bloody Max was immediately sure he would get bodied by him in Elfslayer despite Thanqual being a very old and decrepit Skaven by that point (the description is terrifying by itself btw) Yes, the bit about Max telling Felix he hasn't aged is from Elfslayer since that's the book they meet after they are separated at the start of Giantslayer when the Chaos sorcerers twins who are the main henchmen/puppeteers of Arek Daemonclaw from Beastslayer (despite the title is more about siege of Praag and killing Arek Daemonclaw as final boss) pulled Gotrek and Felix to Paths of the Old Ones corrupted by Chaos and they both survived long enough for Teclis himself to bail them out (which Teclis notes makes them immensely powerful warriors and who he needs to save the world from mentioned twins, who together are enough to fight Teclis to a standstill). P.S. And yes, this is the insanity of Gotrek and Felix when the twins are mentioned in 1 book as henchmen/men behind the power of Beastslayer, are masterminds behind corrupting the dragon from Dragonslayer and are the main villains from Gianstlayer

I'm pretty sure the only reason Aenarion doesn't just cut his way out of Slaanesh in AoS is because he's currently giving the Prince of Pleasure a stomach ache so bad even they want it to stop, and because he's just TIRED of having to be the most dangerous individual to ever exist in the Fantasy-AoS continuum, and is perfectly fine with letting Gotrek have that honor. In a way, even Ciaphas Cain is terrifying, to his enemies at least. One moment you're just fighting a commissar. Then you notice that despite him just being a well built regular human, he's actually keeping up against you in that fight. Then you realize his men are confusingly enough chanting what sounds an awful lot like an Aeldari War God's name. You can't hit him no matter how hard you try. He's even gotten in some scratches himself. With horror, you realize those soldiers aren't cheering prayers to a xenos god or some obscure backwater version of the Imperial faith. They're cheering for the commissar you're fighting. Imperial Guardsmen. Are cheering. A commissar. Who you can't even seem to touch. But wait, now there's some sort of, overwhelming feeling of WRONGNESS slowly tickling your mind. You can pinpoint where it's coming from, but it's getting worse. Getting stronger. It's becoming harder to think as that wrongness becomes even worse and discomforting. You're getting slopping. How is this mere man doing this? No what is HE?!?!? And your final thought is "Wait, what's that smell?" right before the melta from Jurgen hits you.

That point about how the Skaven view Gotrek and Felix reminds me of how the Eliksni from the Destiny games view Saint-14. They literally talk about him like he's their nightmare made manifest. They use stories of him to scare their young into being good. And the interesting part? Every story they tell of him isn't made up. They happened; they're real events. They shudder at the thought of killing him, because they know he'll only come back even more angry than before. No matter how great or heroic you may be, you are the villain in someone else's story.

Ibram Gaunt and his Ghosts deserve a mention here. The dude comes with twin bolter pistols and a huge power sword, wades into battle, slices cultists by the dozen despite not being an armoured superhuman. You look into his eyes, and instantly perceive their wrongness. Then, the setting comes alive, people emerge from almost perfect camouflage and shoot your horde to bits, and there's that one sniper that manages to take out your officers, your sorcerer and half your artillery. A guy the size of a small ogryn begins shooting anti-tank missiles, he somehow misses and manages to still casually splatter half a platoon before reloading his tube with one hand. And then you, gentle cultist, hear on your vox that these are Gaunt's Ghosts, and you've heard stories about them. They're the Sabbat Worlds' boogeymen for chaos.

To add to the argument that Thanquol is terrifying the first book of his solo series sees him clashing with Lord Skrolk (the oldest of all living Plague Priests and someone so infused with the putrid magic of his clan he is known as the Disease that Walks) , a big thing about Skrolk is that he tore out his eyes in a display of religious devotion and now sees through magical means. When Thanquol had finally had enough and gathered up all his power to strike down Skrolk the plauge-lord's withered glands desperately tried to shoot the musk of fear because to his magical senses he was staring into the heart of a star centered around Thanquol. Get Thanquol pissed enough he doesn't stop to scheme and you are likely dealing with a Teclis or Nagash level spellcaster with all the sadistic cunning inherent to the Skaven.

In Age of Sigmar, I'm pretty sure that the Stormcast Eternals would be terrifying to your average follower of chaos. Think about it, you're a chaos marauder going around killing, looting and burning. You know, a normal Sunday, when pillars of lightning come down from the sky and coming out of the lightning are golden warriors with glowing eyes and weapons. They don't say anything as they start effortlessly cutting down your comrades. To say that this is a fight would be laughable, because the golden warriors are beyond human in strength and speed. You pray to one or all of the dark gods to help you. But as you see one of the golden warriors getting closer and closer, you realize that the only one here who has the aid of a god, is the one raising their warhammer to bring it down onto your head.
