I met fatty when he was walking into the scg for the grand final against the Raiders in 87.Being a manly supporter and meeting and shaking fattys hand was brilliant. Last thing I said to him was Manly will win today which we did.Travelled all the way back to Mackay with a smile on my face.@@laffo1980

Loved this interview last Sunday, as a Brisbanite, so nostelgic. We were southside kids, but Fatty's way has always reminded me of my younger brother who we lost end of January this year, was the same age as Fatty. So entertaining. I could have listened to him for hours. Smarter than he looks 😄

Take time totalk to those that came before you for they may have stories that inspire or wisdom to share or just the pure joy and pain of life and it's challenges, and a laugh to remind you that it's not about things you accumulate but those you surround yourself with along the way. Love Fatty, Sterlo and the footy show crew, they brought a lot of laughter to middle hard working Australia.

The Fat is right up there with the other icons of our game. His talent on the field and off it are inspiring. And the biggest take-homes for me are his self belief...and his absolute passion for the Maroons. It's passion like his that wins Origins year after year. If only the Blues could emulate this passion and self belief we'd win a few more games.

Shame Sterlo retired from TV after 30ish years - him and Fatty complimented each other, good cop/bad cop style. Iconic and Channel 9 staples. Would waych them if they got another crack at another Footy Show, or something similar. Onya Fat for a legendary legacy, top shelf interview 👏

Nice interview with Fatty. I might look into if he has a biography on his footy life. When he isn't trying to be funny, his stories are pretty good and sounds like he came from a very humble upbringing. Fatty and Sterlo kept the footy show and commentating if footy good for so many years.
