Great way to play the game, I'll try something similar. As a tip, you can have more thundaras for Squall by refining thunders (100 thunders are equal to 20 thundaras), that should help (Use Quetzacotl Min Mag Refinig ability)

6:37 You just nailed why I don't like Final Fantasy VIII. Yeah, the entire junction system sucks, experience gain is completely counterproductive and collecting/refining cards utterly destroy any balance. But there's no incentive to interact in the world or explore anything. It's like being on rails even more than FF XIII which was actually on rails lol.

I actually wanna play it now like a ff13 paradigms system, with Squall being Commando, Rinoa - Raveger, Selfie - Medic, Quistis - Sabateur, Irvine - Synergist and Zell - Sentinel. Some commands in ff8 actually might be fitting in this one i think, i'll try it for fun ++

11:00 when i first play FF8, i never really feel when the adventure is starting tbh bc they often split up.. i was expecting the FF7 (1997) moment of realization that there's much bigger problem to solve when they first leave Midgar.. . Also, what makes me frustrated is that they keep changing their focus on who to fight (first abt them against the Galbadian armies & president, then them against Edea, then them suddenly against NORG which is quite unnecessary to the plot, then them against Seifer which also serve little to no purpose to the game's plot unless the "Squall is dead" theory is real, then them against Sorceress Adel, then finally them against Sorceress Ultimacia).. and lots of the stuff in the plot is very coincidental and doesn't make sense.. Like, wdym SeeDs exam is them facing real Galbadian armies who's colonizing Dollet? Imagine how Dollet citizen feel knowing that the one in charge of attacking/battling the Galbadian colonization is a bunch of amateurs who's only doing this mission for their SeeD exam.. Sorry, i've been holding up my thoughts abt this game that i start to pour it all out accidentally lol.. . edit: 14:21 and 24:41 YESS it's so weird how everybody always dependent on Squall's opinion for some reason.. The main character syndrome is very noticeable in this game compared to the other ones lol, the way Cid just ask Squall to be in charge of the garden for some reason lol.. and also the other thousands of SeeDs students are so unimportant and not helping them solve the Ultimacia problem too.. probably just idling in the garden wondering when they'll be able to go home peacefully.. i was expecting all of the students charge up against Ultimacia in union bc that's what they've been training to do, to kill the Sorceress and bring world peace.. but nope, just the 6 main characters who did that..

just started the video wile i craft in ff14 here is what i did, and i cannot recommend it: i made a broken, overpowered playthrough with everything, and i mean - everything, yes, the one with the cards, and with ultima weapon disc one. took me nearly 40h to get the. I hate card queen and for the life of me, i cannot understand how this rule manipulation works, mostly because my english isn't really good when people talk in accents. after i was done... i quit.
