Weber Genesis grills are tanks. I need to replace mine because the cart panels are rusting out. It is 12 years old and the grill and burners work perfectly

Good video, I've got a 6 burner Monument, waiting for delivery. Most videos about assembly state 1.5 to 3 hours. So I'm planning 6 to 8 hours unless I can get someone to assemble it for me.

Yeah, it's definitely not the easiest thing I've put together LOL

I never wanted anything to do with propane grills till I got to Colorado. Grew up in the south where charcoal is king, friends knowing my BBQ prowess wanting me to cook when I visited their homes when they had a gas grill...usually a two burner. Everything was burnt, especially chicken or ribs. My first gas grill was when we moved to Colorado. Too cold to sit out there and wait for the coals to get good...I learned to get a big ass grill to cook food under indirect heat. Thats when I mastered the gas grill for certain foods yet keep the charcoal long and slow roll when me moved to Texas...gonna order this grill for my 71st birthday day....

The stainless steel seems good quality and removable grease pan is a nice feature. Thanks for reviewing the grill. I don't own any gas grills because I like to slow cook my meats in a smoker. But how about steaks and burgers on the Monument.

Gonna be doing steaks for the first video!!

I had a weber propane grill. Sold it bc I got a yoder 640, which can get hot enough to grill also. But that weber worked like a champ. Sold it for maybe 100$ less than purchasing price.

I'm curious how well this one will hold up compared to a Weber. My parents had mixed luck with them back in the day.

I just put this together last night. Looking forward to using it. For me gas makes the most sense from a practicality standpoint and I am excited to learn the sear station. How is yours holding up? Also, the hook on the right side just has the top lip go above the bottom lip and the screw holds it up from the bottom ;)
@FattysFeasts3 ай бұрын
I just read that in another comment too! It's holding up fine, but honestly, I've been using my Blackstone way more, just as I suspected LOL

I have the stainless one for 4 years now. The grease tray rusted out in 2 years and I had to order one, which was backordered. I found one on Amazon that was adjustable and it seemed to fit. The grill gets really hot. I like the grates on it. The sear burner works well for searing meat after a sous vide. I like my various smokers better but I feel like the Monument is a great grill for $350.00 that I paid for it.
@FattysFeasts Жыл бұрын
$350 ain't bad. Is it the same model in stainless or something smaller?? Also, good to know about the tray rusting. I'm curious how long mine will last...
@smokingtarheel3003 Жыл бұрын
@@FattysFeasts It appears to be the same size and has both the sear burner and regular burner on both sides. It's got the cool blue lights too! Keeping foil in the tray will help prolong its life.

I own 6 weber gas grills. some are very old. i am curious on long these grills will be around. hold up to time.

I am too. My parents had mixed luck with Weber, but they also bought some crappy off brands sometimes.

I 100% agree with uour opinion about propane drill,except 1.Time and convenience. When I get home 6 pm and just feel like bbq ,or quick pizza for kids,propane will save the day. What you say?
@FattysFeasts7 ай бұрын
Oh for sure. But if I'm using propane, I will always prefer a griddle over a grill. Just my opinion.

Hey great video and review, I just recently picked one of these up and also thought I had a spare battery :D Oh fyi it is in the manual on page 18, doesn't mention it in text but there is a pic! And you put the hooks on incorrectly that's why it was difficult, the bar goes above the rim and down not below, the three pegs on the bar drop into the three holes, then a screw from below up into the bar ;) pics and text in the manual for that could also be better, I had to look at it 2 or 3 times :D

Hahaha thanks for the tips! I hope anyone that sees this video also sees this comment, because that was a complete pain!

That looks like a great grill for the money. I’d be concerned about the plastic wheels and the prices for replacing the internal parts that always eventually rust out on all grills. I recommend that you find some Houston Oilers stickers and slap em on your new grill since you chose the perfect color for that and you’re in Tennessee now. 😁 Excellent video. I watched the entire thing despite the fact that I’ll probably never have one of these grills unless Monument wants to send me one for free too😉to review in the coveted first ever video of any kind on my channel.
@FattysFeasts Жыл бұрын
Yeah some of the parts seem "meh" but that's almost just my assumption with the luck I've had with grills. Weirdly enough, I used to be an Oilers fan as a kid. I really don't know why, but it's kind of funny seeing I live 10 minutes from Nissan stadium now!

Well done! Hey, one more question….I’m trying to add affiliate links and when I do they aren’t hyperlinks. Any ideas? Thanks, sorry to bother with these type questions.

Dog Tags?! Say no more, I’m ordering one. It’s nice to know I’m not alone on how gas grills do not last. Windows on grills and smokers are a joke. They work great for the first cook. Looking forward to seeing what you think after you use it.
@FattysFeasts Жыл бұрын
HAHAHA right? I kind of like the window, but I'm thinking the same. And the worst is I'm going to be too lazy to clean it.
@shonhatley541 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm still not sold on gas grills. I've owned 2 or 3, just not my thing. Charcoal grill or cast iron cooking. I'll even go with a smoker, but with a smoker, I'm gonna want brisket. Everything else can be done on direct heat over coals, or on a griddle/cast iron.
@FattysFeasts Жыл бұрын
Yeah I've always preferred charcoal too...More work and more expensive supply wise, but better flavor.
