Not too sure how I came about this channel, but greetings from West Palm Beach Florida! Thanks for the great information.

Wasn't aware of the 45 degree angle to find better Fatwood. Always grateful to those that teach me something. As for camping on a frozen bay...you are a better man than I, Gunga Din.

So now I realize I have six acres of fat wood and have been using it for years. But didn’t know about the shaving. Great video, I can’t stop smelling freshly exposed fat wood either.

Thanks for the 45 degree angle broken limbs tip, never thought about that.

I burn firewood all winter. As I’m splitting I encounter fat wood and have made a stash as I don’t burn it in the wood stove. I probably have a half chord of the stuff. I keep a couple pieces in my day pack and some in my truck tool box also. Pitch works well also to start a fire in the rain, I usually grab some of the hardened balls as they pack well.

Anytime Issac. Thank you for taking an interest. Cheers brother. I literally just used a piece of this very fatwood tonight at a cabin my wife rented for my birthday weekend of ice fishing. It really does work well and is easy to find.

Almost as fun to watch as it is to do. Fatwood is probably my favorite smell, even better than cedar.

Very impressive video!!!! Xoxoxoxoxo Here in Ohio we are having problems with permits to collect our Natures Gold!!!!All the state parks now are banning even getting firewood for camping!!!!Go figure!!!

Thank you. We actually have pretty strict laws in all of our provincial and national parks as well. Luckily we do have access to unlimited Crown land. I always thought that America had this same access? ...... public land! Thank you for taking an interest.

None provided in local campground these past 2 years in sask. Canada..not one stick...not too surprising..kids couldn't play on swings either...

It's happening allover the developed world , leaders and the rich are buying up all the land and selling the resources whilst banning the rest of us from using earth's free resources .

I figured fatwood would be from some kind of fancy tree way down south in mexico and areas like that. Didnt realize I have potentially hundreds of pounds of it sitting around my house waiting to be found. Going to go looking for some dead tree limbs and stumps.
