2:29 of Fat Mike expressively deciding when to jump back in on that fretboard is on par with jumping onto a speeding train from a horse. This man is a veritable bass legend! As a bass player myself, I have taken his advice in using 0.60 Dunlop picks for my playing and I’ll forever stand by it. It just gives you a more fluid feel when dancing on the strings. Some but probably not all key great things about this video…. 1- The way Mike matches his pitch and cadence perfectly to his self Introduction pitch and cadence used in his Dunlop pic commercial from Fat Mike’s, Fat Mike. 2- The immediate, smile on the dial when he first started playing, I just love it when someone loves what they does! 3- The song selection is completely dope! I love the evolution of the members of this band, in particular Melvin. How’d we go from, some tell me i can’t sing, from theme from a NOFX album, to now singing complete studio tracks or sharing track vocals and even taking on singing old songs, previously sung on studio albums by Mike like ‘stickin in my eye’ at the live shows for example? Kicks ass. 4- Well funny Liquid death product placement, looking after the friends that look after you! Classy, cute and fun. 5- Seeing an artist that I adore. 6- Them leather pants.. 7- Closing out with that Jim Dunlop pic plug to round it all up nicely. Gonna go give coaster another spin, love blasphemy…. Cheers Mike.
