Intermittent faults are a pain to find and we've all been to the point when you just have to have a break to get your head together.

Wow, that’s a great video showing how difficult it can be. Great to see. Does it ever get you down or keep you up thinking about what could it be when after two days you go home still not fixed and people there looking at you going, “does he know what he is doing” and when you do fix it do you ever feel why did I not find it earlier. Do they always pay for 3 days time when you do it. Great to see the schematics and how they work.

We've had to change two faulty Pilz relays recently. They were two channel jobs and only 1 of the channels was working. New relays fitted and that fixed the problem. People assume that safety relays are bomb proof but sadly not the case. They are mechanical relays at the end of the day The key thing with a safety relay is that it monitors itself to know when an internal or external failure has occurred and stays in the off position until the fault has been cleared. Very ace video and followable, keep them up! Love it and have learned loads from it!! I had the same issue with EV Charge station relays!! Wasps building inside the gap!

Great to see a methodical approach to an issue. Moreover, how important it is when we feel flustered, and if you say you don't do that well.....🤔!!!!, how important it is to step away. Go for a brew and gather your thoughts. Chat with a mate about it or whatever. Great points on this to take away. 👌

Hi Jamie, now that's what I call a proper video, what a bugger to find matey, although the contactor was not the real fault, it did need changing, I have never seen a wasp nest in an electrical installation, in all my 80 years at least not in the UK. well done young man, best regards from the old sod in North Wales.

Totally agree about trunking lids in panels. Does my absolute biscuit in. So lazy. Takes minutes to clip back on.

Dry joint in the Pilz I'd guess, or maybe a bad relay inside.

Pilz safety relays are an overcomplicated headache everytime...

As soon as you suss them out they are pretty easy but the external cables can be complex

Bloody hell, proper diagrams. You lucky sod 😂. Just goes to prove that intermittent faults are the worst bastard's to find (Trust me I know) but unlike some, you didn't give up and pass the buck onto someone else 👍.
