Thanks, although I'm doing some GBA carts at the minute, and it may be the one that breaks me :p

What tools do you use to remove the broken ribbon connector? it looks like a heat gun. Also is that flux that you're using to align the new connector in place?
@1up_Gaming2 жыл бұрын
It is indeed, hot air and flux, I’m not very good at it though, and I’d suggest practicing on something else first.

Do you have a channel to repair Nintendo 2ds? I have a 2ds that gives the charge led but the battery doesn't charge. I measured the 3 pins and noticed differences between another console that charges and one that doesn't

Hi. I took my 3ds apart today and made a pigs dinner of it. The white tape the right of the headphone jack on the touch screen going across is it necessary?
@1up_Gaming2 жыл бұрын
Nope, it’s just there, it doesn’t have any working / electronic purpose 👍

@@1up_Gaming Thank you for letting me know. I will attempt to fix it again tomorrow.

@@niallers8572 just be sure to go at it slowly and carefully, watch lots of videos and get a feel for where everything goes, they can and are a bloody nightmare to work on, I’ve just done so many now that I’m reasonably quick at it….. but I still make mistakes, mostly forgetting to put the touch ribbon back in place 😂😂
@niallers85722 жыл бұрын
All working fine now. Silly mistake the ribbons were not pushed in all the way. Only slight inconvenience the latch for the analog broke. I stuck it down with electrical tape. It seems to be holding for the moment. It will do as a temporary solution. Anyway your video was very helpful. Thank you. You earned yourself a subscriber

do you think you couldve put the replacement ribbon connector on using the heatgun when directly applying heat to the cable or would that just destroy it?
@1up_Gaming2 жыл бұрын
The ribbon would completely melt unfortunately, on a gameboy I tried fixing I forgot to take the ribbon of the screen out while just heating the solder points on the pins…. It did NOT look good 😭

I replaced digitizer, it works fine, but now screen appears more grayish when powered off, compared to my other 3ds's with original screens. When powered on picture seems to be more dull. Is this due to non original digitizer having poorer transparency properties?
@1up_Gaming Жыл бұрын
Does it have some sticky protective coating mastic on there still? I’ve seen some that have it front and also on the back, it could be that, or it’s just a slightly more opaque plastic unfortunately
