Faulty DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter going bad - how to test

Hello guys,
After researching a lot this topic and discussing with some mechanics I found out a simple method to find out if your DPF is going bad or the regeneration is not full done.

This DPF light has come on . I took it to the garage and they charged the glow bulbs/plugs . Got it back and the light came back on after 30 miles . I ran it at 2000 revs for 20 minuteds but it stayed on. I worry this could be expensive now. Can they just clean that filter or must it be replaced . The car is still under warranty but they are claiming that it will not be covered as I was late by 1000 miles for the 2nd service.

Kia tells you how much oil to put in and it should not be on full. My Sportage shows 3/4 full when I put the correct amount of oil. It is to allow for DPF regeneration to fail as oil will enter the oil. If it cannot do it then it will keep trying and keep adding oil. In the end the oil will become so thin it will damage the turbo and then blow the engine. If you see the dipstick level rise then you may have to use a tool to force the DPF regen

Hello. And then what happened bro ? I had the same problem, exactly as you wrote. DPF warning light came on again. I'm thinking of having it removed and cleaned.

Bzdura, dpf ma problem z zajebsnym silnikiem.możesz wymienić i następny wykończysz dokładnie tak samo za chwile.
