Fauré - Barcarolle No.8, Op.96

My new recording of Gabriel Fauré's Barcarolle No.8, Op.96, in D-flat major. It was written in 1906 and bears the dedication "A Mademoiselle SUZANNE ALFRED-BRUNEAU". I love all Fauré Barcarolles but this is one of my favorites.

Thank you ! I've known this Barcarolle for long time but it was when you mentioned it in a video of yours that I looked it up an knew I had to record it. Actually I had recorded it 10 years ago for Piano Society but listening back that version makes me cringe. Fauré deserves better !

Thank you ! Yes put it on your todo list. Nothing Fauré wrote is ever less then beautiful. You can't really go wrong with this composer 😍

Definitely a French man steering this gondola! I can see why this is one of your favourites, Chris - a really superb performance of this exuberant work by Fauré: bravo!

Thank you ! As far as barcarolles and nocturnes go, Fauré was the true heir to Chopin. His music always came natural to me.
