Faure's elusive melody line has a certain hypnotic quality. A finely nuanced performance from Dalberto,

I saw him early in his career at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, perhaps around 1981, or a few years later. I cannot recall how far he advanced, but he was held in high esteem by connoisseurs of beautiful music as one of the most gifted of the contestants, and worthy of a large career. Happy that he has been so successful.

this is basically what you must avoid when playing Fauré. A bit miss interpreted on that Nocturne, we don't want to be reminded romantic feelings and motions in this kind of genre! Especially the choice of delaying EVERY bass notes in the opening theme is just making it even worse.

@@jamespeterson4275 im not arguing over the fact that his music is emotionless. I never said that. Ofc this can be likeable like anything. But as a professional pianist, i can only say that he is not performing well. when ur a pianist the first thing you do is listening to interprets right, and this is completely misleading if you're not familiar with Faure's music, because you're going to play like this guy and if u dont have a teacher in your back well you're fucked.

@@dantecaillat8641 Hahahahahahahahahahaha he's performing amazingly! Why do you have to be like this? You know what tell you what. Just TO SPITE YOU PERSONALLY I would like you to know now that this will be the only version of this piece I will ever listen to! Just because you are so insanely rigid that this is "wrong" just because it's not done in the way Faure or people who try to closely follow how it's supposed to be played would have traditionally played it. We no longer live in the classical or romantic period. People can cover or interpret songs however the fuck they want. If I wrote a song and someone did a RADICALLY different cover that's arguably "disrespectful" to my original work because it doesn't understand some key aspects you're not gonna see me complaining about it because you know what? God bless that motherfucker! Im just honored that they did that! Just because you're a professional DOES NOT give you the leeway to be mightier than thou and act like this dude isn't doing a good job. Times have changed. Some of you classical heads acting like the "interpretation" and being "true to the original" is making it a "bad performance" smgdh. That's insanely fucking ridiculous. THERES PROBABLY TONS OF PEOPLE WHO PLAY IT TO YOUR STANDARDS but noooooo you just had to come on here and be NEEDLESSLY critical and put out such shitty energy into the world. Get bent.
