Comme beaucoup d'autres auditeurs, j'ai tendance à écouter l'interprétation de Brigitte Engerer des Nocturnes de Chopin jour après jour. Je ne me souviens pas qu'un autre pianiste ait abordé l'âme musicale de Chopin en tant que Mme Engerer. Elle a tout. Technique brillante et phrasé, profondeur en perspective et bonne couleur. Malheureusement, elle a quitté le monde beaucoup trop tôt, mais sa musique l’emporte. Repose en paix.

La numéro 2 est belle à en mourir. La langue de Molière n'a pas de mot pour exprimer cette incroyable beauté musicale. On a l'impression, en fermant les yeux que les notes de musique dansent autour de nous. Chopin était une compositeur d'une sensibilité presque inégalée. Et que dire de la GRANDE DAME Madame ENGERER, étoile parmi les étoiles. Quelle pureté et quelle légèreté dans son interprétation. Elle a du sondé l'âme de CHOPIN pour en sortir tant d'émotion. J'ai du l'écouter au moins 10 fois et en pleurant à chaque fois. A présent, elle joue avec Chopin pour le bonheur des anges. MERCI POUR TOUT.

One of the very best of our time. I have listened to so many Chopin interpretations and keep coming back to Brigitte. Her career spanned many decades and she possessed such skill, grace, and power, but also some of the most emotional playing ever. She put everything she had into it and I am in a trance when I listen to her play. Rest in peace, dearest Brigitte :-)

Sublime, quelle sensibilité! je suis bouleversé à chaque fois que j'écoute cette grande dame du piano jouer ces nocturnes de Chopin Elle les joue à la perfection, ni trop rapide comme certains, ni trop lent, c'est simple, on la dirait touchée par la grâce divine lorsqu'elle est au piano. Elle était la classe, l'élégance, la pureté, le talent personnifié et avait sur elle cette LUMIÈRE que des rares humains ont sur eux à leur naissance, cela s'appele LA GRÂCE dans la simplicité des Grandes Personnes. Elle doit être maintenant avec Chopin, List et bien d'autres. Je ne puis m'empêcher d'avoir la larme à l'oeil quand je l'écoute et je regrette qu'une si bonne, belle et généreuse Personne nous ait été enlevée si tôt. Wikipedia says that she died in June 2012 and this concert was in June 2010, so apparently two years before she died. In any case, she was a marvelous pianist.

A very great pianist also a great human being. She was a regular collaborator on projects with Accentus Choeur De Chambre. I think that the opening pages of the Dvorak Stabat Mater recording directed by Laurence Equilbey with Brigitte Engerer playing set the mood for the whole work perfectly . Hard to imagine anyone playing this Chopin with more warmth or intimacy than her.

I just heard almost the same repertoire by Michelangeli. It was technically perfect (in my humble opinion) but emotionally "dead" (only my opinion). By Brigitte Engerer's Chopin interpretation really touch something deep inside of me. They are absolutely beautiful! Thank you for posting.

Very beautiful performances. In fact, I think these are the best interpretations of these nocturnes that I've ever heard. I wonder: the music score is up there on the music stand yet I didn't notice her ever turning a page or see a page turner. How did she manage that? Was she playing from memory whenever the correct pages were not visible? Just a curiosity because the main thing is that these are extraordinary performances.
