I love your fuchsia Santorini tank. I just made two for myself and am very pleased with the results. Her patterns have lovely neatly finished insides. I made one from a printed linen and it helps to hide the wrinkles. I also made a Burda top pattern with a yoke… it was a very strange construction where you needed to hand sew the inner yoke 🤯😖. I did manage to burrito the lower seam. Thanks for sharing your makes and inspiration.

My only issue using the burrito method is that with certain fabrics the pulling can distort the fabric. So I only use that method when sewing with a very stable shirting. Otherwise I use the method of Liesl & Co.'s Classic Shirt pattern. It is just as easy and there are also no exposed seams. I love how these tops look. Nice job!
@AlexJudgeSews Жыл бұрын
That’s true, the pink linen looked very dish raggy after I pulled it through, but it could take it. I don’t know the Liesl & Co method, but this could be the perfect excuse to buy another shirt pattern 😁

Just love the Santorini top which looks great on you. Pink looks good with brown and a muted green, the Peony dress is my sort of style, so simple and of course little or no gathers !!! I recently used a Threadcount pattern to make a Flared Sleeve Dress which is very similar to the Peony dress, I think I'm moving towards more fitted styles which are easier to wear with a cardigan ( often necessary in a UK summer ! ). So ,thanks Alex for as always a great video.

The Faustine top really piqued my interest, I love a pleat detail at the back, and the swingy style, so off I went to the website intrigued by new to me designer and patterns. Then I realised I’ve already bought the Saxa shirt, with the same pleat details, and have I made it up yet? Have I heck!!! So thanks for reminding me of another long lost pattern that I’ve bought (and had printed), but completely forgotten about! I’m going mad! In other news my sister and I planned our whole summer holiday around an incredible fabric place in Italy, that carry designer dead stock and have returned with a frankly ridiculous amount of gorgeous fabrics, so when I find that pattern, I’ll have a choice of what to make it with 😂.

I've got my eye on that Peony dress so will love hearing how you find it. I've been fan girling The Vampire's Wife dresses for a while now and recently tried to copy one using another pattern (you can see my attempt on @the_headless_sewer) but if I had known about the Peony dress I would have used this as my base instead. The actual original VPW dresses have no darts in front skirt and a dramatic French dart in bodice so I would like to manipulate a pattern in future to see if I could achieve this. Love your tank tops and thanks so much for your pending tutorial. As usual, you are looking fabulous and it's lovely to share in your joy of sewing.
