How to make a bamboo stick from a pool noodle. Sorry to end so abruptly. The last bit didn't record like I thought it had, but at least the majority of the tutorial is there. :) I hope it helps!

Wish I'd seen this last year; it would have made building our prop "raft" a lot easier. Well, now I know for when we (inevitably) replace the old one 🙂 Oh! We could use these to make a hut as part of the background. Yessss, I can definitely find uses for these in our pirate skeleton yard haunt. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Hi Josh, you saved me a ton on decorations for a baby shower. “Momma’s Little Dumpling” 🥟 theme. I thought, how cool would it be to add some bamboo. Started pricing them… even faux bamboo and couldn’t find any that were as large as we wanted. These are absolutely perfect. Now, I just hope I can find pool noodles. Thanks so much!!!! These are great! 🎋

My attempt didn’t turn out as good as yours, but I was still happy with the outcome.

Aww I’m sorry. I’d still love to see the outcome if you get the chance. Glad you were happy though! :)

Could I use a high-powered hair dryer to melt the foam and what type of paint are you using for base coat?
@joshblake Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if that would be hot enough to melt it or not, but you could try! :) I use latex paints.

Is there any way you could tell us what color the paints you used were? thank you

Michelle Andreas I apologize for the delay. For some reason I never saw the alert. I used acrylics that are already mixed. You can find them for about $1.50 at Walmart...light brown, nutmeg, chocolate brown, and a mustard yellow. For the exact shade, it’s difficult because I mixed those tones that I listed together until it was a color I liked. Those are the basic shades though. :)

Wow! What setting was the heat gun? I assume a blow dryer would not be hot enough? It truly looks amazing!
@joshblake2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, the heat gun gets much hotter than a hair dryer. I suggest getting one of them or even looking at the thrift stores. Sometimes they have them used for cheap. :)

@@joshblake I just found out my husband has one. I can’t wait to try your technique!
