I love this. Just bought an old window to do for my mom. You mentioned it not standing up to sun? Could I not put this in the window to give a full stained glass effect or would it just fade and melt? What if I used resin instead of glue? What do you think of matte medium with acrylic instead of white glue? Never done this, just doing research and looking for tips. Thanks

I did this with my grand daughter and after awhile the colors faded. Should I have used more color? Your piece at the end was gorgeous!!!
@nancyboutin4802 жыл бұрын
Hmm.. I've never run into fading. Perhaps more colour or maybe it was the kind of colour you used. I know gel food colours are much more intense than the liquid ones more readily available at most grocery stores.

Fantastic art work thx for sharing. Could you cover with epoxy resin to save against time and the elements? Glue won’t hold up and these are worth keeping

Beautiful work. Have you ever had a problem with peeling of any of the colors? If so, what did you do? Or how do you prepare your surface? Or sealant. I appreciate any advice. Thank you,
@nancypuhr64883 жыл бұрын
Hi! I never had an issue with my colours peeling on any of the pieces I've done, nor did I seal any of the pieces. Sadly, the piece pictured met an untimely demise, but it wasn't from peeling. In terms or surface prep, just do a really good cleaning with either windex or vinegar and water and make sure it's completely dry!

I tried this, but the sections where I poured in thickly, which started out looking just like your finished work, these ended up shrinking off the edging and curling away from the surface. Also bubbles cannot be popped, have to be scooped out. Struggling. How did you get these gemlike dried sections to stay gemlike and not shrink away and off? beautiful work, thanks.

I tried the black paint with the Elmer's glue and it dried very flat. I had used puff paint before and liked how it gave a little edge to keep the colors from mixing. Did I maybe do something wrong? Also mixing the clear glue and colors it made so many bubbles that I could not get popped no matter what I tried. Again is there some kind of trick?
@nancypuhr64883 жыл бұрын
Oh- puff paint would be a great idea! I may have to try that! As for the bubbles, I find the slower you mix, the better.
@karengoodenough827 Жыл бұрын
I have not tried but like with mixing acrylic with pouring medium I would think if you let it rest, maybe a whole day to let the air bubbles work up to top and out?

My day job is as manager of a seniors' rec centre, so I was trying to come up with ideas the seniors might enjoy trying or watching themselves. I do hope to do more videos in the future, on a variety of topics. I welcome you to check out the other videos on our channel; There's lots of cooking, nail art, crafting and more. Thanks again for taking the time to comment!

Nice work, whats your mixing portions? Can we pour Art Resin Over project to make it waether Out side or a spray sealant? Let me know what you think. Please. Ps. I tried Art Resin with colorants, wasn't good. I'm not that talented.
@tillsonburgseniorcentre56193 жыл бұрын
Hi Sheila - I mix strictly based on the colour I’m trying to achieve versus mixing according to a formula. As for pouring resin over the top, I’m not sure. I think it would certainly seal it well, but I’m not sure if there would be any kind of adverse chemical reaction between the glue and the resin. Perhaps you could try it on a small piece first (I’d try using the glass from a dollar store picture frame as a tester) and see how it works, and then also, how the resin responds to weather. I’d love to know the outcome!
@sheilaegeland3 жыл бұрын
@@tillsonburgseniorcentre5619 well truth be known, Art Resin can go over all paint, any medium. I'd spray an sealant over project Before pouring resin. I'd love to keep in touch with you regard this creative time 😆

I'm not familiar with ink paint, but my suggestion would be to first try it with a very small quantity so yiu don't waste your supplies. I'm sorry I didn't see this comment earlier. If you've tried it already and it worked out, please comment and let me know, and maybe post a picture of your finished product. If not, mix up some glue and your ink paint and use the glass from an old photo frame as your test run canvas. Good luck!
