This is a great list! I wish you had included Autumn Story from the Brambly Hedge series by Jill Barklem. It is absolutely darling and I bought the entire series for my daughter for Chistmas last year. Even my husband likes it. If you have never read The Brambly Hedge I highly recommend it, as they also have a Winter Story, Summer Story, Spring Story and other adventures with the mice of Brambly Hedge. :)

Love the inclusion of both fiction and nonfiction. One of our favorite non-fiction authors is April Pulley Sayre. Her books are all written as poetry and feature beautiful photographs. Full of Fall is a fun one for the autumn season. We’ll also sometimes pull out Raindrops Roll on those rainy fall days.

Your selection looks great! I definitely appreciate the non-spooky non-Halloween selection! I’m familiar with some favorites, and I’ll have to look into the others next fall :)

I think you would really like a book called Saturday Sancocho by Leyla Torres. Her grandmother trades at the market to make a special dish for the family when they are poor (central/South American culture). At the end is her family recipe. It has been a well loved edition to our home library.

Thank you so much! There are so many twaddle books out there and it can be exhausting to weed through! It’s a relief to have this video as a base to build off of!

It’s so refreshing to see a fall book list without the Oct 31st theme! Thank you for sharing! We love many of these as well. We also love The Best Sukkot Pumpkin Ever by Laya Steinberg. It’s a great pumpkin themed book about the biblical holiday, Sukkot, and it has super cute illustrations. 😀

Highly recommend - Seed by Seed as a fall themed apple book. It’s the best version of Johnny Appleseed and his virtues. It talks about him following what God told him to do. Author: Esme Codell 🍎🍏

I love Jane Yolen too but she does have one terrible book. Encounter is considered “revisionist history” it’s disturbing and it pretends to be truthful but it’s not.

I was thinking the same 😕. Nothing at all like owl moon, sadly.
