I love this video man. Fantastic transitions by the way I love it! I starting getting chills when you talked about Thorfinn. I literally just finished reading book 7 before watching this video and I can easily say that Vinland Saga is tied for being my favorite manga series I've read so far. There's so much I have yet to read when it comes to series, but Vinland saga truly hit me in all the right ways. Just wanted to share those thoughts because I found out about the series through your channel. Awesome stuff as always!

Awesome video man. I always liked Goku a lot more as a kid and always liked Dragon Ball a lot more than Z or GT. Interesting how Naruto is probably your least favorite of the big three but Naruto is your favorite main character among them. Funny how that works out. Definitely gotta agree with you when it comes to Light Yagami. One of the best characters ever written.

7 Yagami Light for his development and transformation through out death note even if i wanted L to win 6 Gohan because of his transformation from a winy kid to a bad ass teen in dbz but he is low because of his transformation during buu 5 Joseph Joestar because unlike the first JoJo who uses brute force and strength to defeat DIO he uses his brain and trickery to defeat the pillarmen 4 Guts this is a protagonist list so i put guts on here but in the golden age arc guts and griffiths relationship and interaction makes berserk for me 3 Straw Hat Luffy he is charismatic and dead set on his goal and although he is standard shounen protag some of his interactions with the other characters really make one piece great for me. 2 Koro Sensei because although he is a deadly alien who wants to destroy earth he grows on you 1 Kaneki because of his great character development.

Naruto has always had an uncanny ability to make anyone his friend or atleast see eye to eye with him. hes such a likeable character.

Since this was a video about MAIN characters, I felt making this list to be a bit hard considering how many series I haven't read, but here I go: 10. Shinichi (Case Closed/Detective Conan)- I love this character, been following him for hundreds of episodes and volumes of manga. I love how relaxed he makes me whenever I read him, and he's just a fun character. 9. Kei (Gantz) - For the first 8 volumes of Gantz I really didn't like this guy. I thought the series was just a blood sport and action junkie central, but to my surprise once the story shifted into the next phase I found myself loving these quiet moments Kei had, and was even more surprised just how changed he became up to volume 20 (where I am at a stand still). So as of volume 20 I have been pleasantly surprised where this character has gone. 8. Hideo (I a a Hero) - If I read more than the first omnibus Hideo may have been higher up on my list, but since it's only one he gets to be here. So far I think he's a strong character that has the potential to be molded into something great. The first half of the omnibus was very character driven and an introduction to him, so as of right now I'm really digging what he's going through. 7. Tsukimi/Kuranosuke (Princess Jellyfish) - I had to include these two. I feel like you can't have one without the other. Tsukimi is that type of character you want to root for, and your heart aches whenever she doesn't have confidence within herself. Kuranosuke is the guy who helps her through life, and they're such great foils to each other that reading more chapters could push these two into my top 5. 6. Saitama (One Punch Man) - What I love about OPM is that it's a parody. But what I'm still surprised from it is that it has really good characters, and Saitama while funny actually has those hero values and selfishness meshed together so well that you kind of relate to a guy who shouldn't be relatable. 5. Mari (Inside Mari) - This has been my most favorite manga to read in I don't know how long. The inner struggle that Mari has to face each chapter is amazing, and as the series progresses you start to see how layered she is and how tortured she really is. 4. Sena (Eyeshield 21) - This was the first character I read where I saw a significant change in them. Sena went from being the kid everyone picked on, to the rising star of the football world. He made friends, gained confidence, and really changed who he is by the end. 3. Gon/Killua (Hunter x Hunter) - Like number 7 on my list I felt that these two simply can't be separated. They are wonderful foils to each other which allow the characters to go deeper and darker than one would expect from this series. Killua has a tragic backstory (like most shonen kids) but Gon brings out the best in him. Gon has a very happy life until something happens to which Killua can't help in any way. When you really get to know these characters the simple actions they make become very real, and very big, so much so that it affects a lot. 2. Light (Death Note) - Nuff Said. 1. Thorfinn (Vinland Saga) - Such a fun character to follow. I have a soft spot for vikings, but Thorfinn is definitely a character that I feel surpasses a lot of characters.

Here I go. - Hanamichi Sakuragi, (SLAM DUNK) because after meeting him and seeing how he became an important player for Shohoku's team, he helped me get out of the bad state I was in. I still cry when I remember the influence that this character generated on me. - Uzumaki Naruto, (NARUTO) because in this character I saw many aspects that I have as a person. With Naruto it was with whom I learned to understand the value of a promise. -Kurono Kei, (GANTZ) because he gave me scenes and epic moments.

Great list. I completely agree with you on Naruto. He is such an inspiring character and is one of my favorite mc of all time. You mentioned the big three, I feel like Ichigo is the worst mc out of the 3. He doesn't stand out that much. I didn't see Ippo coming at the end. I love Hajime no Ippo and I love his character but I didn't see it coming. The one thing you said that I disagree with about Ippo is him being like Naruto. Naruto is so up beat and positive and is always shouting while Ippo has a more quite determination. He also worries a lot more then Naruto. They both don't give up but Ippo thinks through things while Naruto just rushes into things. Naruto is the type of guy to look you in the eye while Ippo looks down at the ground. Ippo is a lot more passive. Lastly I'm surpassed you didn't have Edward Elric on your list. He may be the most bad ass character I have ever read. (Sorry for the long response :)

I've never used bookdepository so I can't recommend the site. But I've heard that you get better deals if you live in Europe, which I do not. So I'd try out both, but as for a recommendation I think Amazon is better from just what I've seen.

I loved death note but HATED THE ENDING! Light could have and should have easily beat Near & Mello. The ending made the series a lot less of what it could have been for me.

I liked the ending in that Light lost and died but I wish he had lost by his own mistake not someone else's. It is still a great ending but that is my opinion.

***** I know. I just wish that Near had been able to out smart Light by finding some sort of mistake. You could argue that Light did make a mistake by not anticipating Misaim actions. Either way it is still a great ending that takes many read throughs to understand.
