On a road trip with family 😍. Definitely digging both trucks, but longtimers know the Truggified Typhon is still my all-time favorite 🚀🚀🥰. Might've noticed the sideways jumps and rough landings 👀. The stakes to my plastic ramps kept letting go allowing the ramps to move all over the place. Problem solved thanks to galvanized 8" x 3/8" nails from the neighborhood Lowe's 😂. Thanks again to my buddies Ian, Victor, John, Shelby, and Kong for a Killer fun windstorm session!!!!

You guys are all the kings of hardcore bashing. Amazingly the trucks take almost all the punishment you dish out for sure. As far as brands I still prefer my Arrma over my Traxxas Trucks, they just seem harder to break and easier to fix when it happens, that’s strictly my opinion though. I’ll probably pick up a new Outcast 4S when they hit the stores so I can compare it to my new MAXX, same or better. Definitely costs less but the difference’s from the last 4S models and these should be fun to see and hopefully Arrma has edged out more speed for this speed bashing junkie. Have a great trip with the family.

Mr duperbash, I have a question. I used 1 mill in my Kratom center diff and love it! Thanks for the tip for air control. Second thing. Every time I hit the throttle on my sledge it flips on its lid and pisses me off. Do you thing 1 mill would work for lessening wheelies but have good air control for the sledge?? Thanks man you rock! If your ever in Fullerton ca hit me up I got a spot you’d love
@richduperbash29662 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brother 🤗. Flipping on the lid constantly gets old quick. You could certainly try 1 mil center in the Sledge and see how you like it. I'd recommend trying smaller wheels (if you haven't already) and dialing the punch down. If your temps allow it, sometimes gearing up helps to mellow out the low down torque. If you're running the stock tires, they balloon more and more over time and do tend to wheely like Mad. 🍻

Hey Rich, I’m having trouble recreating the steering mod on my sledge. I purchase two sets of Kraton 6s steering arms. I put it in the other slot on the Ackerman and used the ball from the rear Kraton arm. The problem I’m having is rubbing on the hub from the composite ball cup on the arm. It’s limiting the steering more than the narrow offset wheels rubbing the arm.
@richduperbash29662 жыл бұрын
I noticed some binding between the outer ARRMA rod end and Sledge hub (during outwards turning) until moving to the rearward position on the Ackerman 🤔. You might try rotating or angling the outer plastic rod ends slightly so they point upwards. That's how they generally sit on the Kraton. If that doesn't afford you full steering on power, you could consider dremeling or filing the rod end slightly. I didn't need to with my set-up, but that's an option. I'd tinker with the geometry of the rod ends first. Hope this helps Brother. 🍻

Thanks Brother 🤗. The Kraton 6s is a fantastic all-around basher 😍. The Talion truly is as well. While not as great on brutally rough terrain, it's lighter, quicker, and handles better. The Outcast is a wild stunting Beast 😂. All the different rigs have their advantages. It kinda boils down to preference and the terrain you have available. I typically tell people to get a Kraton simply because it's a jack of all trades with loads of aftermarket support. 😎💪👊👊

@richduperbash29662 жыл бұрын
I love both sizes of Backflips, but the smaller 4s Backflips take some of the weight burden away from the Sledge and honestly get the power down better. This is even more noticable now with the M2C reverse motor mount system and Hobbywing 165O 4985 🍻😎💪👊👊

I haven’t been doing much with my RC’s the last 2-3 years now I’m getting the itch to get back into it. A guy I work with got a Sledge and it look good. It’s like they finally figured out what the bashers want. It’s basically a Traxxas kraton. Wonder if they are going to make the Talion, Typhon and Outkast next?

I see your jumps and they’re crazy just wondering do you have any tips for jumping because on the 3rd jump of my Hobao hyper SSTE and the rear diff input gear snapped 3 teeth off and I don’t know what I did wrong it happened to my mates minutes earlier if not I’m probably just going to get a exb taillion
@richduperbash29662 жыл бұрын
Thank you Brother 🤗. Jumping takes practice. Big jumps at high speed can cause major damage if you don't land cleanly, especially if landing on flat hardpack or into another jump face 👀. Take your time being progressive as you build confidence and skill, and learn the limits of your rig. Can't speak for the Habao, but make sure to not land on hard throttle and try to level off and maintain wheelspin with the pace the car is traveling. Breakages happen for many reasons. Hopefully the truck doesn't have weaker gears. It may need bearing shims on the ring gear side bearing 🤔. Habao seems to be pretty good quality from what I've seen. Do your best to land on all 4's. While that's not always possible, it's a good rule to follow. 😎💪👊👊

Good vid, fast to the point, just my 2 cents, I'm not a Traxxas nor an Arrma hater but I hate the Sledge... I would like to help people save their hard earned bucks. I bought it with my own money, it is my 5th traxxas car, it is one of the most disappointing trucks from traxxas. There is not enough convenience or R&D into the Sledge to justify the price, only improvement is the sliding body, everything else is a downgrade compared to other traxxas cars. - Battery holder is worse than the one on the xmaxx and maxx, it's loose, it needs body pins, which the car doesn't include, so you have to use 2 stupid body clips just for this car, completely opposite of the "traxxas experience" about full convience and simplicity. - Completely exposed cup boots and center diff/spur, (unlike all their other models) if the sledge sees just a bit of gravel, it will get in and shred the spur gear and the rubber boots. - Tires are an insult to any customer paying premium for this car, the foam inside disintegrates under mild use and 0 water. - The sledge is cursed with loose bolts, they unscrew themselves at will, I have the Kraton 8S and a cheapo aliexpress 1/8 truggy with mostly metal parts and I'm yet to see a single bolt lose on those. All this gets worse when you consider that in Spain, our minimum wage is like 7$, purchasing power is like 1/3 compared to the states, but this car still costs the same, so these 820€ are MUCH bigger deal in this country, heck, this is probably the most expensive 1/8 rtr in the market and it is just like any other 1/8 scale but with a sliding body. If you want a truggy; get the Kraton EXB, if you like simplicity and convenience like me; get the BXL. I very very much regret getting this truck and cannot even sell it, in Spain this hobby is RIP.

Thanks so much for your comment Brother 🤗. I agree 100% the Sledge is completely overpriced. I got one to help test upgrade parts for M2C Racing. Been helping Mitch develop, test, and refine parts for several years. First ever M2C Tekno MT410 chassis (and other bits), then all the available ARRMA upgrades.The Sledge absolutely needs aftermarket upgrades to handle harder bashing. At 800$ USD for a stock Sledge, you really start to question the cost to value for what you get, irregardless of brand. Truly appreciate your input my friend 🍻😎💪👊👊

11:46 i could only assume it didnt break anything? HOW? i really with you would go over your cars and give a breakdown of mods you have done, specifically with the 6s kraton. if theres one person on the internet who knows how to mod a car is has to be you. i keep replacing broken stuff on my car and something else always breaks and im not doing half as much with car as you are.

I knew you wouldn't let me down Rich! The thing is one costs alot less then the other. I just can't justify spending 900 on a rc and then having to swap out the electronics and do some m2c upgrades and you're looking at a 1500$ rig. Why do that when I got a exb for much less and let's be honest they are pretty similar in terms of layout and other things

Stock rigs can't handle extreme bashing without upgrades. Maybe for a few bashes without any brutal hits. The stock Sledge motor mount system would've failed miserably already. Junk design and materials equal bad outcomes. Fortunate to have upgrade options that work. 🤗
