The problem with replacing Kirk was never that he was a great player. He is not good and I say this as a guitarist that adores him as an artist. His main contribution to Metallica never was his amazing technical ability, playing live he makes at least 3-4 tonal mistakes on every lick and produces 30 unintended sounds. His contribution was his amazing solos that he wrote, which always fit perfectly and enhanced the feel of the song so much. It feels as if there was always a perfect solo out there for each song and he was able to find that exact perfect solo.

This is technically not a medley. It's just a collection of you covering the solos. You need to find a way to link every solo in continuously flow than it would be a medley.

You are very good. Only piece of constructive criticism I have is just let loose a little. While you're hitting the solos technically for the most part, they have no character to them, very dry. Palm mutes in spots, bends that aren't on the album. Maybe it's just me playing everything metallica like a live version.

I'm definitely talking about the lack of solos Kurk has done in their last few albums. There either were none of they were awful, as well as many of the songs over all. He used to be a king! But now he's pushed himself off the pedestal and made himself less than what he was.

Henry Not really, you get used to it and end up using the different parts of the tree inlay as substitutes for normal inlay dots.

I've seen A LOT of Metallica solo covers, and there's a lot of people who play the solos note perfect, but lack the most important thing that Kirk (and James in NEM and MOP) has, and it's the feeling.. Also, this is being a bit pedantic, but the Master of Puppets main solo is wrong. At 6:08 (The "screaming" sound near the beginning of the main solo), there is no proper way to play that few seconds. In the studio when Kirk was recording that part, the high e string actually want off the fret board by mistake, but it was decided it would be kept. However, this means you can't properly recreate it without potentially damaging your instrument. That's why in all live versions of the song, it's performed slightly differently, whilst still keeping the rest of the song the same.
