My favourite Ruby Walsh Cheltenham moment is how he congratulated Sam Waley Cohen after Long Run beat Denman and Kauto Star. He knew that the old guard had showed up for that race, and for an amateur to beat them deserved serious credit. Shakes his hand like a proper man and gives him a big pat on the back to boot, even though he must have been gutted in the moment for Kauto. The man is a hero of the game. 🏇🏼❤️

To my mind his best ride was on Annie Power in the Champion Hurdle. His judgement of pace and the fractions from the from was just first class.

Big Bucks, his massive presence is quickly felt. All the pretenders came and went. Faugheen the machine, sure banker . I think ruby can’t remember his best races. Kauto’s 5th king George win.

@@bclaw35 yes your correct I didnt listen to him properly, i thought best hed seen rather than his rides I backed Denman that day heavily, was in the club enclosure, dont think I've witnessed a atmosphere like that since , and I go every year to Cheltenham also Sam Thomas imo wasnt treated to well after that , MCoy and ruby giving rides on Denman when they should have left Sam on him
