PogoDarnexx oberslesisch ist der dialekt.. für jemanden der so aufgewachsen ist wird das wort normal, die dame ist sich anscheinend nichteinmal bewusst das es das wort vergratscht in keinem duden gibt. Keiner ausserhalb von oberschlesien kennt dieses wort, es existiert ausschließlich im oberschlesischen dialekt. Vergratscht- etwas unnütz verwenden, verbrauchen

well... maybe one should point out that sillysparrowness is from an area in bavaria which is also part of schwaben. our language is... hm i would say it is special and the most well sounding dialect in german. but her favourit words in this video are absolutly not typical german. in this area maybe but it is kind of a small area so i guess most germans dont even know these words as well.

Yes i thinks she Comes from franken/ Bavaria I guess ;). I think she meant "verklatscht" that is a word to tell something that he Looks terribly, the word Rührelement exists but many People use for this "Rührstäbchen". "Huschelbuschel" is "Sudeten-german" (just a few People in east german speak it) and stands for "Mauerblümchen" I hope i could helped you with my bad english^^

Ich hab das Wort "vergratscht" noch nie zuvor gehört. "Vergratscht" kenne ich auch nicht. Und als schön klingende Wörter würde ich eher zu "Liebe", "Träume", "Nebel" tendieren. Es ist aber wirklich schwierig schöne Wörter zu finden. Man findet ja meist die Bedeutung der Wörter schön. Zum Beispiel liebe ich das Wort "Schmetterling", jedoch finden viele Ausländer, dass das doof klingt ^^

Chris, I love it when you speak German, it has such a nice sound and accent to it - I wish Astrid had a German channel where you two could do a whole sketch in German :) Oh und Astrid, da waren aber einige Worte bei, die ich noch nie gehört habe... Ich wusste nicht, dass das "Rührelement" einen Namen hat und ich kannte Huschelbuschel nicht, aber ich bin auch nicht Sudetendeutsch und es ist echt süß - erinnert mich an das rheinische "Ketteplösch" für Pusteblume, was mir gfällt, weil es so beschreibend ist - bei "Plösch" sieht man doch quasi den plüschigen Flaum der Pusteblume vor sich. Was ich allerdings schwerwiegender anmerken muss, ist dass mir "vergratscht" vollkommen unbekannt ist und ich vermute, dass es ein Regionalismus ist, ohne dass es dir bewusst war (keine Sorge sowas passiert mir auch ständig, wo ich doch von mir selbst denke, kaum regional gefärbt zu sprechen)... Oh und was das schönste deutsche Wort angeht, da habe ich mal gehört, dass das "Habseligkeiten" sein soll :)

In Dutch, the word for squirrel is eekhoorn of which the pronunciation is nearly identical to acorn, so my guess is that something went a bit wrong there

There is neither a Word like "Huschelbuschel" nor "Vergratscht" in normal spoken german. People would actualy use "Mauerblümchen" instead of "Huschelbuschel" (in this particular use) and "missraten", "hässlich", "unordendlich" "unansehnlich", "abgewetzt" or "misslungen" instead of "vergratscht" in the first place even "zusammengerammelt", "versaut", "hingeklatscht" or "verdallert" would be used more often than "vergratscht" in terms wich its used here. That "Rührgerät" thingy would actualy be called "Rührstäbchen" wich could be wordly translated like "stir-stick" or "Rührlöffel" wich is translated like "stir-spoon" because it is used like one and not because its looking like one. "Rührgerät" means every Item or Device wich is particulary used to stir something no matter what is stired or how big that device may be. So even an Blender can be an "Rührgerät" when you use it to mix something up. Even an Spoon can be used as an "Rührgerät" Greetings from Germany. ;)

This reminds me of the old joke with 3 people (French, Spanish, German) arguing over who has the most beautiful language. The use the word "butterfly" for an example. The Frenchman says "Doesn't papillon sound like a beautiful word?" "No," says the Spaniard. "Mariposa is a much more beautiful word." You have to know something about the word "Kichererbse" (chickpea). I also asked my self where this word comes from. So I found something interesting at Wikipedia. "Kicher" hasn't something to do with laughing in this case. This word is an adaption from Latin word "cicer" what means "pea" too. So the German translation would be "Erbsen-Erbese". That's called "pleonasm". Therefore the translation of this word is very interesting because "chick" seems to come from Latin "cicer" too!

Hey, congrats to your pronounciation, it's very good! (compared to others, like people on tv-shows who even get paid for it) Just one thing that bothered me: Rührelement might be an actual word, but no one uses it. You just say the name of the tool you are using like Löffel or Kelle or whatnot. ^^ You know what would be a lot of fun? Taking english idioms and translating them into german, using that funny, vehement voice you made when you talked about Aschenputtel. ;)
