I first saw them in '84, and met each of them a few years later. Sweetest bunch of guys. Bill has a kind heart. Although sad, I understood his decision. REM was never the same afterward, but I was happy for him in his decision. Michael put it so well. Bill loves the other three guys, but his heart wasn't in it anymore; it was back in Georgia with his family. I respect him for that. We were blessed to have seen/ heard the four of them together for those 17 years.

I don't understand any of this. This is so confusing
