Vanguard action squad is a LOL refrence… which weirdly will be important later on (season 7) Always watch out for Star Wars, LOL, Marvel, Harry Potter and lord of the rings references in MHA. Dekus hometown for example is named after a planet in Star Wars and there are hundreds of easter eggs in the show. The older Deku gets however, the references are growing up as well and we lately have Malcom x, MLK , Kant and “Sturm und Drang” (Storm and Stress literature era) quotes and references …

@@Catalos693 yes. Spoilers: shiggy and Spinner bonded over “retro games” (remember they live in the future) and played lol together. Spinner hinted at this in season six as well “we had more in common than I thought like games and stuff”. Shiggy also basically named the league of villains after league of legends. Don’t know if the anime can actually make that reference in season seven since bones wasn’t even able to add the Denji appearance from the manga, but yeah. This also explains why the doc called “the league of villains” a cringy name, but shiggy still stuck with it :)
