The kids have been adapting better to different situations, but they haven't been pushing themselves in expectation of improving their quirks. It's like how regular exercise will help your stamina, but unless you really pump it up you won't build muscle.

There is Canon and Non-Canon filler, the episode of Tsu and the Navys it's filler because it never appeared in the Manga but it is Canon because it was mentioned by Tsuyu herself and the designs of Selkie and Sirius were made by Horikoshi, another example is the scene of Endeavor fighting the Nomus in season 2... That scene wasn't in the Manga but it was mentioned in the aftermath and Horikoshi himself said it was Canon. The first episode of this season it's an example of a Non-Canon filler.

All I'm saying is that had horikoshi not said anything about it, I'm pretty sure most people would have just taken for what it was. Before the 1 million scene, the percentage deku used of one for all was established at face value. When deku said he used 5% it was 5%. And when he said he was using 100% he was using 100%. We also know before this scene that going beyond 100% is possible via All Might's plus ultra attack, but the percentage limit was never established. So when deku said 1 million percent it would not be too farfetched to believe that it really was 1 million percent because of how they established it before. Future manga chapters and anime episodes also never reference or hint back to the real percentage he used so there was no evidence to say that it was not 1 million percent. When the manga of the scene first came out, people all over the forums took that scene for what it was. Nobody knew for sure until horikoshi told everyone that it was a battle cry and was really just 110%. Hypothetically, if we never knew it was really 110% we would have just taken for what it was. People are getting mad at all these reactors just because they didnt know that the author clarified that it was 110% is just plain stupid.

I mean, you can say that about a lot of characters in MHA. Some characters get the spotlight shined upon them and some don't. All most all of the Pro-Heroes and like 85-90% of the school class can be summed up in one sentence without leaving anything out. I won't contest the petty part though :) He isn't a narcissist because his single primary goal shown so far is to upstage Class 1-A and put Class 1-B in the spotlight. Class 1-B, not himself. During the sport's festival, he devised a plan that would increase the likelihood of Class 1-B members passing the first round of preliminaries while simultaneously gaining an advantage over Class 1-A and later examples, both in the anime and manga, support this. At his heart, Monoma is a surprisingly team orientated person, which is exemplified by his quirk, as it can only be used to it's fullest potential if he has teammates. So, yeah. Not a narcissist. He doesn't have a victim complex as it's stated numerous times that his main goal in these confrontations is to piss off and provoke Class 1-A. The example in this episode is no different from all the others. I doubt there's any actual malice or hatred for Class 1-A in him, otherwise why be so petty when he could actually do stuff that could screw 1-A over. Also, how could he have a victim complex if he's simultaneously jealous of the attention Class 1-A is getting, while never actually being involved in an incident so far?
