Does this Manoj Agarwal represent India as a whole.Does he know the culture of Kerala or does he consider Kerala to be part of India. Does he know the sanskrithi of Kerala. We have Christians in large numbers and we follow the Christian Calender . He talks about British and they brought their culture. Does this idiot know that Christians in Kerala adopted Christianity centuries before British knew about Christianity. Did the Calicut Empire follow the Gregorian Calendar? Wasn't it a Roman Catholic invention? Majority of Christians in Kerala in olden days were Syrian Christians, who were declared as heretics by the Portuguese. Something about their practice of anointment (which looked like a Hindu Ceremony to hardline Jesuits). I doubt they were following the Roman Calendar. That being said, the Gregorian Calendar is used the world over and based on it the new year is celebrated at Dec 31st. If the people celebrating are not a threat or nuisance to others (uber for the love of god, don't ever drink and drive. And if I hear loud music which disturbs my sleep, I will complain), then who cares.

Just to update Christianity to Northies , Christianity came to India immediately after the death of Christ by one of his disciples St Thomas. There was no Roman Catholic, Portughuese , Jesuits etc. Unlike Northies who seldom know their DNA , here in Kerala all have same DNA and practice religion of our choice and we are Mallus first, next Indian and third our religion. Our culture and food habits are same and we all enjoy beef and fish regardless of religion.For us unity in diversity is important
