We never use gloss paint it is oil based and over time that is why you get the yellowing look . You can not use emulsion on skirting or door frames etc it is not hard-wearing enough and will come off in no time at all , Dulux do a Satinwood it's is a mid sheen I would say and is waterbased so all your brushes etc wash with just warm soapy water and it goes on a dream , I always use Satinwood , dries quick too and is usually low odour 😊

Great tip ,thanks.I actually paid out for someone to do my hallway and banisters ,bought the most expensive (and advised) Paint ,and it peeled within weeks ,i was gutted.The guy hadn`t sanded it or prepped it properly so it was never going to last/Now i have someone who used to do alot of things for my mum ,and he also advised Satinwood for a nice finnish.Oh ,one thing i forgot to ask ,is it easy to keep clean ,can you wipe it down? Thanks xx

When painting over a dark colour you should really undercoat it in white a few times before adding the colour you want.

Loads of charity shops, coffee shops and hotels in Chester!!!. I have bought my grandson age 6 some lovely clothes from Poundland. When they become teenagers they want all the name makes of clothes. I usually use a cheap paint and do a couple of coats before the more expensive top coat. I wrap any brushes and rollers in cling film overnight for use next day xx

Hi Faye 😀. In Nottingham market square is a large white rose charity shop, a little Barnardo's and a cancer research all really close to eachother. Then if u walk a few minutes to Hockey there's a few charity shops up there. One in Victoria centre and a BHF near lush. Lots of love ♥️♥️♥️

Faye I’m from notts and you’ll love it, there’s loads of nice charity shops and cafes. There’s a place called public and plants, lovely coffee shop and they sell the most beautiful plants. If you hop on the bus to Sherwood it’s about 10mins there’s a cluster of amazing charity shops there, me and my mum go all the time ❤️

I hate gloss paint never use it, i use the satin paint for skirting and architraves, works just as well. Xx

Nottingham is quite good for charity shops. The best ones in my opinion are in Sherwood. You can get there quite quickly from the city centre
