Is a tumble dryer not an option? The new ones hardly use any power. That dryer is unsightly to behold

Read about that clothes drier on Which? recently. Be careful the room is fully ventilated, or the hot moist air coming out the top will cause condensation and then mould in your room. Also, it apparently uses A LOT of electricity.
@annetaylor5690

Should have got a dehumidifier Sean . It dries the clothes by blowing dehumidified air onto the clothes , All the moisture in the air is collected in a container as water which you empty when full ,

I have one of those old fashioned wooden ceiling hanging clothes airers in my greenhouse and myc lothes dry quite well in there - even in the winter. It also doubles up as an art studio sometimes so it works quite hard!

People are so generous Sean, the sppoons are great as all the cat goodies😃. Glad you spersisted with your camera, i would have given up many days ago. As for the company with your shed and greenhouse they are fools. i purchased a 'posh' heated drier from Lakeland, i think its great and as you say it can heat the room at the same time. I got one for my son and he reckons that it cost too much to use,(it cost a lot to purchase too lol) i didn't find so. Its better than having damp clothes around the place for certain. I hope next week is a better week for you. Have a good weekend, take care🤗

Hi Sean, good for you naming and shaming the shed co and glad you've demanded a full refund! I won't go over what I've already said but if you checked that well-known review website I mentioned, others have had similar probs! Not good enough feel for you. 😔 Loved your pressies, that stirling silver spoon looked fab and I really liked your new calendar, I may have to get one of those! 👍🏻 What a pitty re your potatoes, I think that frost caught quite a few people out but at least you were able to save some.🙂 Yep the skins have vitamin C in them. Thanks for demonstrating the drier, I was interested to see how that operated. Well done to the lady who won your bike, I bet she's chuffed to bits! Take care and hope you get your refund soon. 🤞🏻

Wow, your veiwers are very generous & thoughtful. I think the sticks in the parcel are 'silvervine' sticks for the cats. The dreamie mouse, you twist the head 1/4 turn & put biscuits or treats inside, & the cats knock / tap / bat it to get them out. Useful if a cat is a gobbler. I have them myself for my cats & some of my cat clients, always popular :) The foldable spoon set looks brillaint ! If you (or anyone) wants to calculate work how much electricity something is going to cost to run. (Example give for UK). 1. Look at the item, somewhere - on the label or plate near the CE label, it will give a number in Watts. Eg, my heated airer (Fine elements model no: HEA 1098) says 230W This is the Wattage per hour. So it uses 230W per hour, ie 0.23KW an hour. Ie 0.23KW/hr 2. Find out your KW / Hr price, this will be displayed on your smart mter display, or on your electrcity bill etc. Eg. Overnight my electricity is 6p per Kw/hr 3. I stand my heated airer in the bath overnight (the room has built in ventilation, and the bath bath is not used overnight, a draft excluded keeps the door ajar, to prevent the cable getting crushed & the shower curtain is tied out of the way. 4. Cost calculation: Price per hour in £ pounds, x wattage (in Kwhr) x number of hours switched on = amount it costs to run it. 6 (ie 6p per KW/hr) x 0.23 (Wattage in KW/hr) x 8 (hours) = 11.04 So it would cost me 11.04 Pence to run it for 8 hours ! A bit cheaper than a trip to the laundrette, as nice as that is. Also keeps the chill off the house :) Example no2. My 2.5 litre capacity slowcooker. (Car boot bargin years ago - fully PAT tested btw) Is rated at 115W So to run it for 6 hours for an evening meal ... when electricity is 12p/KWHr 12 (p per KWhr) x 0.115 (Wattage in KW) x 6 (hours running) = 8.28 Pence to run. Which is affordable to cook a meal & conainer up the any spare to reheat the next day / freeze etc. Also the slow cooker takes the chill off the house & I have a nice hot meal to come home to after being out on the plot / working etc. Hope the examples have helped, as we all are hit with the cost of 'everything'. Kowing how to calculate the actual cost may well become a necessity going forward. Clue, try & run your homes on 'run' on 2KW a DAY.

Honestly Sean. Most women have tried these things for drying clothes. Your bathroom or that bedroom that you use is fine. Get rid of it. Sort out under the stairs. Easy. Get some chrome stacking shelving. Remove useless hooks on walls etc. A good paint. Cancel your greenhouse for a while. Get your shed. They do specials on greenhouses after Xmas. Just a few suggestions. X

I didn’t like that buddy, it took ages to dry the washing, so I sold mine, I do have a plug in dryer that opens up like an ironing board but even that is rubbish to my mind as very often the clothes don’t dry quick enough so they have a damp smell and I have had to re wash them, I found throwing a dry sheet or large dry bath towel over it worked but it takes up room so that’s another thing that’s collecting dust! I have heard good things about dehumidifiers, but I have heard they dry your skin out too so have to be in a different room, I have enough wrinkles thank you, no I find stick the radiators on, worry about the gas bill later on, I am warm and my clothes dry quickly and a quick tumble dry just before they get too dry and no need to iron anything. I love all the different permutations in the answers of how people like different means of drying their clothes though!

What a to do with that shed company. I would have cancelled the order too. I don’t think that company will be around long with that level of customer service. Hope you can find success for a shed and greenhouse with another local company. Nothing better than fresh potatoes right out of the garden. I plant mine in grow bags and have had great success. First harvest from your plot. Congratulations Sean. Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. Looking forward to a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings at my daughter’s home. Beans and potatoes ,out of her garden , will be on the menu.
