13 is the faceit rule, which is largely lead by GDPR but also possibly employment laws, you can’t work in most eu countries legally at this age so why should they be complicit? Further as a parent I don’t think sitting in front of a pc and committing your life to esports at the age of 9 or whatever is a particularly clever move, nor is committing your life to soccer or whatever, you should keep your options open and be multi skilled. We should raise our kids to have opportunities, expose them to different walks of life, and educate them. There’s a reason kids aren’t allowed to compete in sports until they reach certain ages, it’s not healthy and screws with their physical and mental development. You’ve recently seen news of a kid who’s clearly obese, only been at school for 5-6 years but has already spent two school years worth of time on CS. I played cs since I was 6, it got in the way of a lot of real life and I’m just super glad my parents raised and educated me to not live on the computer and have some social life and a career path.

@@g3volution You make good points brother. Future generations have to be multi-faceted to have a good upbringing. If they did stop their schooling or are not doing other things in life as a backup plan, I would scorn those parents. I do also wonder if frozen was not benched from pro play for 2 years, would he be in tier 1 today? I do think being called a child prodigy just creates unnecessary pressure on people imho
