720p - You are Uncle Doug's daughter after all! :D The amp sounds great, I didn't know MOD where by Jensen and I use Jensen alnicos for everything now, the clean tone is killer but add distortion and they have THE sound you at practice level!

Marvelous tone, it actually sounds like an amp from the early 50's, nice warm sound. The "TV detectives" theme , maybe if you run with it a " Green hornet" or a " Hill st blues" , "Crocker and tubbs" head and cab may appear in the future? Keep up the Sterling work .

The "FAZIO Fuzz Buster" for a future sheriff's build. Just a thought. How about the next "Five O" is a 50 watter?

There are actually 4 variant GA5 Skylark amps that I know of: one with a single 6V6 output, another with a single EL84, another rarer version with 2 EL84's, and then there was the model with the single 6BM8 (or possibly 6GW8, i cant remember for certain) output.

An amazing way to start 2024! This build has many attributes that are Colleen-"esque." The chosen colors are unique, and places a modern flavoring to a vintage cabinet. I'm rarely a devotee of Jensen speakers, but I have to agree that the voicing is a very musical match to the overall tone, and definition. I can't wait for the next Fazio build. I won't be surprised if this one-off has already sold. It is my hope that this modulation to bespoke amplifier building becomes a very lucrative endeavor. Perhaps the next creation can be called the "Fazio 12" (for Adam 12). The ideas practically write themselves. Well done! Stay safe.

One of the best builds I've had is a Webster Ecotape Reel to Reel. They have a copper washed chassis and a real nice wood cabinet you can cut a hole for an 8 inch speaker. They usually come with tubes. I've bought 10 of them off ebay. 5Y3, 6V6, and two 6AV6.

Great job Colleen, Always great to see your finished work! Looking forward to your 2024 projects. Could you do a segment on what makes some amps sound clean and smooth, or mello, vs the dirty or cruchy sound that this one displays and anything in between. Tubes, caps, bias, or what ever. I've never known what characteristics about a design make an amp sound the way it does. Thanks

Hay Colleen that little amp sure is cool, cool looking, and sounds just as cool, love that tremolo, very nice build... I've built a few amps myself, and one I have I use for personal practice a lot, it just sounds so cool that I just can't stop playing it sometimes. It's got 2 12ax7's, 1 12au7's, 2 el34's, and a 5U4 rectifier. I built a Marshall 50 watt output section with fixed adjustable bias, a long tailed pair phase inverter, (12au7), and a Fender Bantom bass amp preamp. Then I put it all in an old Bogen CHB35 chassis and metal cabinet. It's got one of the best clean tones I've ever heard. And I'm kind of proud of it actually, lol. Keep up the good work, I wanna, and can't weight to see more of your builds and ideas.

6BM8s are an oddball tube, very cool. I've got a Univox amp that uses 2 of them in push-pull. I wish someone out there would start manufacturing the 6GW8/ECL86 again. They're getting hard to find and they're expensive.
@goodun297411 ай бұрын
Yeah, the 6GW8 was used in some Magnatone guitar amps, and low power hifi amps. Scarece and pricey nowadays; but the 6BM8 is commoner and cheaper for some reason.
@tiki_trash11 ай бұрын
@@goodun2974 It seems like all the 6GW8s went to Australia, lol. I think it's a much better tube than the 6BM8.
@tiki_trash11 ай бұрын
@@goodun2974 The 6BM8 was used a lot in tabletop radios and television sets. I think its use in TVs was probably the reason there's a bigger supply of them.

I don't know if it's your camera person or your camera, but the last handful of amp videos....the intros look really bad. Overexposed/bright, and possibly because of the former, slightly out of focus. Only saying something because your videos looked so much better for the majority of your older channel content, prior. Just friendly advice.
