Fazon - Sopwith Camel

If ever an album deserved to sell 10 million copies, "Miraculous Hump" was it. But it will always be super-Platinum in my mind and heart. A Masterpiece. Like the greatest of record albums, it is more than just great music---It creates a whole world you can just disappear in. What songs! What images and stories! What ambience! "Miraculous Hump Returns From The Moon" is an entire universe! An artistic triumph, from start to finish.

When the Sopwith Camel performed this song Peter Kraemer often said "Fazon is what the sun says". Which makes perfect sense. I had the pleasure of seeing them play several times during the last decade in Berkeley and in San Francisco. They were always great shows and tremendous fun. Look for Nandi Devam's channel here for a live performance from around 2013 where they play their classics as well as later songs they never recorded. Also look for the Acid Clear channel to hear their 1966 demos with familiar songs as well as unfamiliar ones like "The Chant" (aka "Look Into My Heart") and "Counting".

GREAT SONG.. even today.. Of course, the question of Fazon remains.. as a name it means 'hospitable and friendly' - in Esperanto, it's the 'accusative singular' (whaaa?) of fazo (phase) -- it's also now in the Urban Dictionary as "a person not giving a **** about anything" good grief, we need to hear from the band! When the Beach Boys did "Kokomo", thousands tried to book trips to the 'resort', which was non-existant, tho there is a town in Michigan with the name I believe.. but "MICHIGAN DON"T SURF!"
