Another hopefully useful trick, click on the hidden spot behind the co-pilot's seat to hide the cabin. This helps in a smoother experience for low-med computers. the click spot is at the top left hat label

If you preselect .84 in the CRZ page before takeoff, the airplane will set .84 in the managed mode, so you can fly .84 without having to set it manually in the FCU.
@captainrogerdodger144Ай бұрын
5:00 what i do ATM is to use my vertical speed often during takeoff. As soon as I leave the ground I program my VS on the FCU to +3000fpm up until 10000 ft then +2500fpm until 14000ft, +2000fpm until 24000, +1500fpm until 28000ft, and +1000fpm 28000ft onwards. This may be a lot of work, but it makes me fly the plane on my own more and much more fun and realistic to fly👨✈️

For freeware it's hard to beat this plane. I think it performs much better than the FBW a320 and has a more realistic flight model than the a320. Also I find this plane to be very stable not causing any ctd issues at least for me. I honestly don't like spending so much time with simbrief preflight performance and all of that, but I do import the flight plans. I set my own climb and descent profiles manually which work fine for me. Great tips though thanks! I love flying the FBW a380 It does all I need it to do and better than some other paywares I have.
@Izmael1310Ай бұрын
I recommend do this the old FSX way. So basically set your thrust, set your speed to 310/320, take the realistic cruise altitude and use the v/s to get there. If for example realistic A380 climb would take 20 minutes from 0 to 34 000 feet that means that on average it climbed 1700 fpm * 20 = FL340. If you want to have it more dynamic first 10 minutes climb at 2000 fpm and then the other 10 minutes at 1400fpm :) btw thank you for the recommendation of the website with flplans.

For simbrief fuel factor, after some calculation, I use -15% and it's just perfect for the moment. But I think there is a problem with fuel flow by the way. I don't have Ground miles fuel table sadly in the FCOM...
@m_swizzy22Ай бұрын
I use the V/S mode to climb 🤣 at the takeoff I set it to 3,000fpm, and until I get to 10,000ft or so, I use 2.8-3.1k fpm… after that I kinda eyeball it, use Open Climb and use V/S and gradually reduce it from 2.5k to around 1k at altitude. Have to look at the speed a lot too but it works as well 😂

Hello, talking about searching for reality, do you know the Flyprecisely project? They try to create ini files for the 737 family and 77W to respect the exact configuration of the plane as the real one is. Tnks for your job here in yt.
@higor_alpha_romeoАй бұрын
I know that the current version has an MTOW of 510tons, but I admit that I cheat here haha. I took the FBW profile on simbrief and increased the MTOW to 575tons. Also, I did 3 flights and on average my A380 is burning around 13% less fuel than the simbrief profile. If you want to fly weighting 575tons, you actually can, and it flies amazingly.

Adding the efb mod to the OIT is just a copy of the inibuilds A350 using the OIS to see data, although it’s not released yet so you could claim it’s not a copy. 😂 It’s nice if you could get rid of the original efb. As you said there’s no derate option either for the climb I just force Vs 2000 it’s easier messing around throttles. For the cruise I set 0.84 in pre-select on PERF page and aircraft keeps this well with managed speed set. As you pointed out the opt cruise levels seem off but it’s hard prove with just looking at RL data. I don’t know if the RL levels are ATC constraints rather than true OPT levels ? Thx for tip on cruise speed in Simbrief didn’t know you could that 😅. How’s the 777 ebook going ?
@A330DriverАй бұрын
I'd say FBW was first for sure ;-) Like I said when we looked at the BAW flightplan, initially I'm sure the 310 was an ATC constraint. But lateron, 350, 370, 390 surely wasn't. You wouldn't have ATC constraints for the entire flight. The data "made sense", that's why we could trust it, especially when you look at a large pool of flights and it usually turns out around the same.
@A330DriverАй бұрын
I'm afriad I don't have news on the ebook just yet, I just have far, far, far too little time available these days. At least my new hardware should arrive soon so that those aweful CTDs are a thing of the past and I can start flying the 777 again. That should expedite the process.

As to «dual» efbs… Flying a huge two (3, 1 napping…) crew airliner on your own, it’s not that «unthinkable» to nick the FO’s efb and use both? OK, it’s the silly Hollywood scenario where a single hero saves an airplane all solo - but with all this info to ingest, I’d nick that extra iPad too…😅
@gwalker3092Ай бұрын
@@A330Driver totally agree but not being a real world pilot I don’t know how often on very long flights the optimum FL is granted ? Mach wise I’ve looked many flights and they are without doubt 0.84/0.85 as you pointed out.

Aircraft is kinda nice but rolling on taxi way its a mega challenge. I use side stick but also pedals. So, I have to fully push right pedal to hold the aircraft straight on the taxi way. Till the aircraft reacts for turning left or right its also a different story. So, there is zero fun at all for me to fly this aircraft. I even use suggestions from FBW website and I’ve been setup sensitivity - but it doesn’t help at all. Thanks God we have the great 777 from PMDG…🤷♂️

its not about the autothrust, the engines themselves are overpowered
