Hey, I love your channel and you help explain football in a great way. Is there any way you can do a video on the difference between all of the competitions worldwide? I know the International Champions Cup is going on right now, is that different than the champions league? A time frame would help too. Thanks a lot😁😁

Hi Duncan, thanks so much for watching. The International Champions Cup was started a few years back to increase interest for European soccer in the USA while the European club teams get in shape for their coming seasons. I think, as the name suggests, it is supposed to feature the champions from "international" leagues. But as you can see this year, only 2 teams (Juventus and Real Madrid) out of 8, won their leagues this Spring. But I don't think this really matters because all of the teams are pretty recognizable (maybe with the exception of Roma) so attendance is averaging 54K per match in the USA. Actually check that, they are now having matches around Asia with other champions. I would imagine the games are scheduled before the domestic seasons are done (so the organizers may not know who each league champions will be when the games are scheduled). This tournament is essentially a friendly tournament, the teams use it to increase their fan support in international markets while preparing for the coming season. If you want to learn about the Champions League, it is covered in my first video, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIuXmmaBjZd2jZY

really, you want to compare Xavi's career as a player to Guardiola's career? in terms of ability and success they aren't even on the same planet, much less same level, Xavi is/was much, much, much better than Guardiola ever dreamed to become that however has nothing to do with what they can become after retiring as players, Guardiola was lucky and inherited a system/idea created along the years in Barcelona starting from Cruyff, many people came to Barcelona and created the type of football that made Barça the best team in Europe for over a decade, first with Rijkaard and then with Guardiola BUT all of it was part of Cruyff vision that was enriched by others, even before Rijkaard, it was around the era of Rivaldo and Figo where it all came into fruition, had Barça's "front office" not been too stingy for not wanting to pay a portuguese player (Figo) what he deserved, it would be them to have a golden age in the early 2000's and not Real Madrid Galaticos (Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Raúl, Michel Salgado, Casillas, Hierro, Beckam, etc), that's just how good Rivaldo and Figo were together and they even had young players like Xavi, Kluivert or Puyol as well as legends like Cocu or Ronald de Boer, and Guardiola as well later on Guardiola took advantage of all he had learned as a Barcelona player and started "teaching" it to other teams, but of course first having been manager of a Barcelona team that did not need a manager to play as they did since it was already part of their blood, in fact Guardiola even managed to weaken Barça by causing the transfer of Etoo for Zlatan and then causing Zlatan to be sold as well those who came after him did not know or share that phylosophy (except the very first coach that had been Guardiola's assistant manager in Barcelona) and so tried to implement their own ideas (wich is strange because Luís Henrique was also a Barça player, he had to know how they see football) and because they did not understand their job was to continue the process they did not achieve as much success, the team still won internally but has been a while since they have lost some ground on the Champions league, that is probably from them wanting to change the system too much instead of focusing on letting it go it's natural course, their aquisitions shows that as well as some of them targeted more vertical players instead of those who fit naturally into Barças style of play
