FCI Dog dance World Championship 2016 - Freestyle final - Marina Novoselova and FUNNYUF (Russia)

The FCI dog dance world championships 2016 took place in Moscow, Russia from 23 - 26 june 2016. The participants competed in two categories: freestyle and heelwork to music. This routine above was shown in the freestyle final, where only the ten best participants were competing.
Freestyle:
A freestyle routine displays the dog and the handler in a creative, innovative and original way, using music and intricate movements to showcase teamwork, artistry, athleticism and style in interpreting the theme of the music.
Heelwork to music (HTM):
A HTM routine should be done with the dog and the handler in close proximity to each other throughout the routine. On all moves, the dog and handler team should move as one entity throughout the routine, displaying heelwork and creativity in the many positions and behaviors possible in HTM.

actually, newfoundlands hair has to be arounf that length if they're show dogs.

Newfoundlands have that big fluffy hair for a reason. They need all that to keep them warm doing the task they were bred for, swimming in frigid waters. These dogs are extremely strong and can pull a deadweight human adult through the water for large distances when used as rescue dogs. They are more than strong enough to not be bothered by the weight of their own hair.

Yeah, agreed! Love seeing this kind of connection between people and any animal. I'd love to do this kinda thing with my collie mix, sadly, she's getting up there in years.. she would've been good at this sort of concentrated discipline. If I had only known this sort of thing existed.

it is really hard to work with a newfoundland, you need to be very gentle with them i worked with a leonberger and you have to bring a lot by that i mean really a lot of patience. they are not really such dogs to work with like bordercollies or shephards even if they love to work with their owner amazing work from the owner loved it

I had a blue Merle border collie I taught and also my rottweiler is just as smart and eager to please. I've never seen anyone else with a Rottweiler do it but I couldn't go in for competitions like this as my rottweiler works whilst I'm in my wheelchair

He's a Newfoundland. They're in the giant dog class, known to be very gentle with excellent temperaments. They're great dogs and one of my favorite breeds.
