I've had the EP annealer for just over a year and for me it's perfect. I don't load high volumes of brass so having a "magazine" full of brass isn't a huge deal. Annealing 200 to 300 cases doesn't take as long as you might think. I adjust the rpm so each case spends between 7 and 8 seconds in the flame. I anneal 30-06, 308 Winchester, 7mm-08, 243 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.8 SPC, 223 Remington, and 300 Blackout. The unit itself is well made and when I picked it up I was surprised at it's weight for such a small unit. Thanks John!

i started with this, but the movable flame torch design is definitely faster and easier when going from different case size to case size. there is a reason why it isn't mounted = fast and easy. I've been down this road before.

I just ordered this EP annealer a day before your video came out. And I knew this annealer would be a good addition to my reloading set up. I was using a propane torch and socket, but after bushing sizing my brass and firing my reloads. I have noticed that my fired brass necks measurements varied as much as much as .005 between each piece of brass. Hopefully with a more consistent flame and timing heat the neck measurements will be more consistent now.

If you can see it glow, it's already too hot. It begins to glow at ~950° but proper annealing shouldn't exceed 800° for risk of compromising the brass integrity.

tempilaq is your friend... ( use 650 for neck down past the shoulder and down the body far enough to see where 650 stops, then 400 for the case body up to shoulder so I can see exacting how far down 400 is on the body. annealing starts at about 490 so you never want to get close to that anywhere near the case head and thus why 400 really helps you know exactly where that is). I use an AGS, but really any of these that work well is good for those of us that can't justify induction.

i actually started with a "hopper style" annealer... hopper doesn't make it faster from start to finish... hopper or no hopper, if it takes, for example, 5 seconds to anneal XYZ casing, then it still takes 5 seconds per anneal with a hopper or no hopper.. it's not like you can walk away from a flame based annealer and go mow the lawn type thing while the machine is running regardless of the annealer. especially if you reload in 200pcs or less per reloading session. by the time i swap out parts and load up a hopper, i'm already 1/4 of the way into annealing with the EP annealer (don't need to swap out parts) = why a hopper was never added... if you need to pick up the brass and orientate the brass to load it into a hopper or single feed fence = IMO it doesn't matter especially if you reload in 100pcs or less.. 100 pcs x ~5 to ~6 seconds for typical casing with single torch = 550 seconds / 60 seconds = about 9 to 10 minutes per 100pcs = drop in the bucket in the reloading world time clock. I wouldnt trade my AMP Annealer for anything, but when I anneal its usually 500 rounds at a time. I use to flame anneal which does work, but is not even close to being as consistent. The Aztec mode on my Mark 2 is so cool and fast, and gives a precise anneal code for different lots of brass, a feature that makes the AMP worth the investment.
