Now THAT is info I can sink my teeth into! All other KZbinrs should take a lesson and learn how to really do a proper unboxing. Your channel has been a major influence on my RC journey. The cheap steering video. Moving the drop axel screws from the front to behind the axel is a good call. Ive been driving the FMS max smasher for 2 mths now, love the little beast. I modified the body with damage, rust, dents,and a new paint job. Frame is faux painted also. I oil filled the shocks. Also relocated them, and the battery to even out the weight. I have full metal axels, hub hex, and metal high clearance arms coming soon. Im not bragging just letting you know how you inspired me. Ill send pictures if your interested. Im counting my change after paying bills to order a Mini RC Logo classic tee. Keep the videos coming, and the RC spirit alive.

I love the back story on the truck!! I'm from Louisiana, so the license plate stickers caught my eye immediately, lol. We have mudfest here. But I'm not sure there's a whole lot of rock crawling involved with that lol. Especially in the swamps of southern Louisiana.

@@TheShopMiniRC Definitely!!! And even though you'll probably never read it or have to say it again... The proper pronunciation for that City is man shack, 😂😂. I'd love to see you guys post more outdoor crawling videos in the mountains. I thought that was a pretty sweet spot
@michaelc34162 жыл бұрын
Yep. Grew up in LA too, so the tag decals caught my eye when I first saw this truck a few days ago. And rock crawling isn't a "thing" there. In fact, about the only rock you'll find in the vast majority of LA is gravel. But mud? Yes! We do have mud! So, mud trucks are more the thing there for sure. And while I agree with the video about the scale in general, when commenting about the tire/wheels, remember that this is a mud truck and those are meant to simulate using rear farm tractor tires and wheels as has been done quite a bit in the mud bogging world and is one of the visual things I really enjoy on this truck. Really interested in this truck but concerned about the durability of the plastic diff and portal gears. Matt over at his 2FM RC channel already had a rear portal gear fail at the axle pin cutout, after just filming a couple of mild running videos and very little use. Think I'll be waiting and observing the aftermarket and manufacturer parts support on these before buying one.

Hey :) Your channel won me over the FCX24. Recently got it and super happy! Got a question about the USB charger or charging in general. After one day of use the battery was not working anymore. Multimeter reading told that one cell was very low voltage and the other far to much. 2.2v and 4.5v. Saw many times on KZbin that the USB charger shipped with the cars are bad and prober chargers should be used. Got a new battery (but different plug) and an LiPO charger (ISDT 608AC but it was defect from the start lol, will be replaced). So the situation is that I am unsure about the new battery if I could use it with the USB charger or if the charger kills that battery too. What is your charging routine with the Mini RC? What products do you use for FCX24 operation? If you haven't done already, a wholeheartedly request of a Fan of this channel, to create such video covering of what to do when a new Mini RC user. If using the included USB charger is a good battery or not. What to use instead, how to recognize when the cars battery is dead and what to do then, to let it rest or immediately charge it. How to check if the cells are even balanced or out of whack. What to do when to do when the cells are unbalanced and if it can be saved with the USB charger etc. Wish you a fantastic day :)

Awesome video! There are tons of FMS/RocHobby/EazyRC 1/18 trucks (15 different ones so far, if I am right) and Hobby Plus (CR-18, CR-24, 10+ models)) and RGT 1/24 (the ECX Barrage and the Enduro 24 are only rebrands) trucks out there, and all of those have this type of shock mounting system. I do not say I like it, however, it is out for much longer than the SCX24 exists. And this is why they probably used this system. BTW: Those shocks are quite nice, you can make a "oil filled shocks" mod (made 2 vids about this, EazuyRC and Mini-Z), and those oil filled custom shocks work awesome, in the previous models shocks, but those new ones look even better.
@TheShopMiniRC2 жыл бұрын
That’s a fair point. I hate that link/shock setup. I think the scx24 is successful in part because it has a better axle housing design.
@donaldsneffe2 жыл бұрын
@@TheShopMiniRC I had big problems because of this finding shocks for my RocHobby Katana. Tested a ton of shocks, but mounting some of those was quite difficult. SCX24 never worked because of their much too thin screws. All (!!!) other trucks use M2 or even M2.5 screws. That is a totally new thing, such tiny screws, and Axial did it. Do not know why they did not use 2 mm screws as nearly all others, this would have made life much easier. So you only cannot use the SCX24 shocks for the others, but the shocks of the others for SCX24... Meanwhile there are even upgrade shocks out for those FMS/RocHobby/EazyRC trucks, but they are not really good, have them, don't like them. Axial is the "last", newest of the micros (ok, the RC4WD 1/24 is even newer), all other 1/18 - 1/24 platforms have been out longer, ... we should complain why Axial did not simply use "usual" M2 screws (with 1.5 mm hex) ;-) Check the shock test video for those trucks, meanwhile some mor options of shocks are out: "RocHobby Katana, EazyRC Patrion / Patriot, FMS Toyota LC80 1:18: Upgrade Shocks"

Love the body (as in my Atlas 6x6). However, thinking of putting a low cage onto this chassis instead of the heavy and high (but pretty) Power Wagon body would make the FCX24 an even much better crawler, and if you'd swap out to true differential gears, even an awesome rockracer or rocbouncer... because of the 2-speed and super high vmax.

Can someone tell me what type of plug is on the battery? It's not JST of PH2. I have nothing like it and would like to make an adapter so I can use my real charger rather than the little thing that came with it. Just received mine and looking forward to testing it out. The body clips are a bit of a PITA, but guess I'll get used to them. Seems like every RC I get has a different plug! Geesh! I wish we could standardize these things a bit so I didn't need twenty different adapters, and/or so limited on the batteries that will work. Also need to know the battery plug type so I can try to find a spare with the correct plug. I HATE trying to swap plugs on these tiny wires!

@@TheShopMiniRC Oops. Must have missed it in the video. Thanks! Yeah, with the larger plugs like Deans, XT30, XT60, etc., changing the plugs is easy. But, I don't have good luck when dealing with the various mini plugs. So, for these one off applications I tend to just make one adapter for my charger and use whatever the truck and battery come with. Of course, adding spare batteries can be a pain. So, I may end up just doing what you suggest and change the plugs.
