I mounted all 3 of mine on the back wall where the old one was. I cut the top out so I could access the power switch very easily then made extensions for the battery. The new 4ws version has their receiver mounted on the bottom of the battery tray so I just followed that with my others and made sure everything cleared the drive shaft. Then I zip tied my wires to the cage under the panels nice and clean and everything works great

Thank you for these installation instructions. I have installed the RCAWD extended links on a FCX24 Lemur. I also purchased a regular set of driveshafts from RCAWD to replace the stock ones on another FCX24 car. Both the 7cm driveshaft from the set of extended links and the normal set of driveshafts from RCAWD have disappointed me. They are universal driveshafts with a round opening for the gearbox and differential shafts instead of a D-opening, the joints sometimes jam and centering is difficult even with 2 of these tiny grub screws. The result is extremely annoying vibrations. In my opinion, the drive shafts from RCAWD are not really of good quality and not explicitly made for FMS FCX24 cars, which is clearly noticeable. Maybe a tip here, slowly screw the grub screw down to the flat side of the gearbox and differential shafts and move the driveshaft slightly back and forth. This way you will notice when the grub screw has hit the hole in the shaft. Tighten well and don't forget to use Loctite. This will hold the driveshaft securely but may still cause vibrations.
@TheShopMiniRC15 сағат бұрын
I agree. Those driveshafts are not as good as other options. Good tip though!

and one more things are scx24 ,trx4m and ascent 18 also have a locked differential like this one? because their website didnt explain their differential,like the venture 18.
@TheShopMiniRC47 минут бұрын
@ they all have locked diffs. You can’t really crawl with an open diff. The only trucks of this size with open diffs are the fcx24 smasher monster truck, the FMS MT24 (basher) and the Redcat MT18. Basically you only want open diffs in faster trucks like monster trucks.

I’m not sure if you can count how many times someone has watched your video, this one in particular. I have to give you a big thank you!! sir 🙏🏼 I’ve updated my FCX10 K5 with the winch you installed and saved me a substantial amount of $$$. I was going to spend almost $200 on a set of bumpers and $35-$45 winch that mounts to those bumpers. When I seen this video I spent less then $35 got everything I was looking for installed and functioning. 💯👊🏼

@williamwallace94273 күн бұрын
So with reinforcing the shock tower, as I understand, you have to drill through the diff housing cover, so you can run the screws all the way through ?
@TheShopMiniRC3 күн бұрын
@ yeah, I’d use longer screws, and a nut (maybe even a washer) on the diff cover side.

for the a-arm pivot pins, 1.5mm. It will help reduce a lot of play in those arms and caster blocks. The other joints (Ball joints) could use some rubber o-rings.

Thank you for this video, I am fairly new to the hobby and the depth you went into here was fascinating, watched the whole thing start to finish in my rural village in Yorkshire :) Could I get your thoughts on this car vs. the Evo Pro (brushless versions)? I prefer the appearance of this car, but wonder if the Evo Pro is more capable (given the low frame and portals).
@TheShopMiniRC4 күн бұрын
As I mentioned in the video, portals give more slop. Both brushless versions are going to be very comparable. Personally, get the body you like. The are both very good.
@willge73043 күн бұрын
@@TheShopMiniRC Fantastic, thanks for the response! Sounds like the slop maybe outweighs the benefits of better clearance.
