Mine fully upgraded to brass parts. Was too much for stock motor and burned it up. Got Amazon a bigger motor worked better but still a bit trouble climbing. Now with furitek brushless kit on it blows brush motors out of the water. If your gonna upgrade a lot of parts to brass defiantly upgrade to furitek brushless kit motor. The Bluetooth app is great you can fine tune it the motor and steering etc.

Chasing the chaser 😛 They do have a brushless ver of that fmt24, but it's sold under their Rock Hobby (I think) (or their Wow RC) brand, sry I forget which brand it's sold under, but it is indeed out there. & I'm pretty sure that the brushless version that'll fit right in r sold on the FMS site so u can get it & swap it out urself.
@danon-theautisticmaker81125 сағат бұрын
I figured out the math & it's a perfect 1/18th 8.5 foot width, & if you lengthen the wheelbase 36 mm, it'd be a solid 1/18th scale wheelbase too. these are working off the Dakar Rally truck dimensions as reference. & ur absolutely right scale IS math, not the ball park approximations that they usually label these trucks.

What are your thoughts on mounting the battery on top of the motor/transmission? I know they make heat sinks, but is heat really that big of an issue with the 18?
@TheShopMiniRC14 сағат бұрын
It’s probably fine but ideally you want the battery as low as possible. On the slider is good because it gets it super low and that will help your center of gravity.
@jamiekizer733612 сағат бұрын
@@TheShopMiniRC yeah, I agree with the low center of gravity idea. I see a lot of people mounting it on the slider but then you have to worry about side balance. I also wonder if it's better to have a more balanced weight distribution front/back. I see many mods that favor the front weight (60-40) so the vehicle doesn't tip back when climbing, but what about keeping the rear planted on descents? I suppose it comes down to preference. I'm just a beginner so I have a lot of experimenting to do.
@TheShopMiniRC12 сағат бұрын
@ 60/40 helps a ton. One way to balance left/right 50/50 is to move the esc to the other slider.

My fcx18 has the high clearance links and it's rubbing on the batter try any fix for this? It's a stock servo as it is actually rather good. I'd like to get the few mm of travel out of it
@TheShopMiniRCКүн бұрын
That’s a tough one. I’d probably just break out the dremel and trim.
@dman570315 сағат бұрын
@TheShopMiniRC well I swapped the screws over to countersink and that helped alot only got a like 1 or 2 mm of missed travel im going to leave it. Next thing is to get injora shocks ans see if it helps with the travel as the shocks don't compress as they don't seem to be inline like factory links were they kinda bind up so hoping the aftermarket shocks will stick out a tad more

Hamburgers and Applesauce indeed.... Just bought 3 of these from AMain for $100 each (One for me, one for each boy for upcoming birthdays... one of each color of course). One was missing a couple of small parts and within 3 days I had replacements from them. Excellent service! Anyway... I am tinkering with mine so I will know what upgrades to get for the boys. Weight is definitely an issue so far, but not for long. The lead tape golfers use is thin enough to wrap around the inner wheels and adds 2 grams per inch. I will be adding 12mm brass extended links to the front and 35mm aluminum links to the back, and of course new tires on the new color-matching wheels. I suppose I will try my hand at a video when I get it "done".

@TheShopMiniRCКүн бұрын
There is a printed version for the scx24. I also have a video on that. I don’t know if you can still get them though. You could try to use the TRX4M ripper chassis with scx24 parts, but it will need a lot of custom work. But anything is possible with enough creativity and skills!
@PG143062 күн бұрын
Awesome video! Now that you've confirmed all the parts compatibility in different areas, that kinda seals the deal for me. Gotta pick one up and do a mini ultra 4 build with locked diffs. Do you think the chassis has room for a hobbywing fusion 16? im guessing it has to be about 10mm longer than a standard 370 motor. If the fusion would fit, do you think in a u4 style build it'd be worth the weight penalty vs running an fcx24 trans with a smaller brushless motor? Thanks for getting into the nitty gritty of all the specs and details, technical breakdowns are my jam!

I really like this little guy and I was excited for it but personally I think the Mohave Grom for 20 more is a better option, or if you have to have the solid rear axle the HBX 3100a is the same price, brushless, has a gyro and 3s capable hobbywing ESC. I think if they lowered the price to the 100 range or offered it brushless for 150 it would be a much more appealing and better deal. Awesome video as usual man!

As someone that loves any type of short course or desert truck I was excited for this truck to come out, but if I'm being honest, I think it definitely doesn't live up to the hype that was created over it. It looks extremely cheap, it's slow, and I feel like for the money there are much better options. The HBX 3100 a is vastly superior in every way for example, not to mention the Mojave Groms. I know this is 1/24 but I feel like if this kinda truck is what you're looking for, the others are still small enough and wouldn't be considered large by any means.
@TheShopMiniRCКүн бұрын
Thanks for your feedback! I agree that the Mojave Groms and hbx are absolutely awesome but this guy is definitely for a different audience. Especially indoor. It’s much smaller than a Grom.

If I may ask, where did you get the fenders for your C10
How do you lift your scx24 without creating bad driveshaft angle and binding.. is there a drop kit for the gearbox or something? Can’t fit tall shocks on my stock scx24 without bad driveshaft angle so I had to put the stock 36 mm back on
@TheShopMiniRC3 күн бұрын
I don’t actually lift them that much. But you can get adjustable links and that will let you adjust the clocking of your axle and output shaft so your driveshafts are at a better angle.
