FD RX-7 Clutch Master and Slave Replacement (and new project car)

I am back from my hiatus and in this video, I recap the final assembly of the brakes and replace the clutch master and clutch slave. Stay tuned until the end to see the new addition to the garage!

I really like your videos, they’re very informative. But, please get a tripod and zoom out a bit. There’s so much camera movement it makes me feel sick. Move items to the camera instead of moving the camera to the item

Matthew Owen yeah I agree, I would suggest a gimbal for the camera or the new GoPro 7 with stabilization. He is recording in tight areas.

Little piece of advice. Polish the pushrod that goes into the master cylinder. Think of that rust as sandpaper to the spiffy new seal in that new piece you installed. When you’re bleeding it you’ll have more travel than normal and will wear that seal out significantly before you even get to use it. That’s how it was explained to me. Yours seems pretty crusty with rust. Nice work on the car. Followed on instagram.

Yes, this is very good advice. I wiped mine down and applied a little grease. Certainly some scotchbrite and elbow grease will help prolong the parts.

I just had to replace mine on my Subaru and a friend noted what I put above as mine had a new leak just after I replaced my slave. Then had to change out the master which wasn’t cheap. Figured to pass along something to save you my pain.

Where can I get the bolt/screw for the pushrod that connects to the the clutch for a right hand car would real appreciate your help

I’m not sure what bolt you are referring to, but you can find the parts diagrams online and if it is a standard bolt, it will be listed there. M6x12 for example. Shouldn’t matter if it is LHD or RHD, I believe the clutch slave is the same.
