you made getting the turbos in and out look easy. When I did this job I had trouble clearing the AC hardlines on the side. I had to jenga the turbos out of the car

Loving the content. My favourite rotary content channel. The bellows on the oil drain is for thermal expansion, not really for misalignment. I know when I got my FC turbo rebuilt, I had to keep the CHRA a little loose on the turbine housing and clock it on the car so everything lined up flush, then nip it up, take it back off and tighten, then reinstall. I can imagine how much trickier that would be with the FD twins. You mentioned using VR1. Does it burn cleanly with the stock OMP?

man i remember having a coolant leak somewhere behind the turbos. really made me want to go single turbo haha when removing them. they may not be good condition and will probably break soon, but at least i cleaned them up and look pretty for once I had a stud break on the manifold and i almost ruined the threads on the manifold. had to go take it in to get extracted. i bought new studs for the block but were too long so i had to cut them down so turbos would go in. the front oil drain not having a stud made it harder than it should have been i swear. I used a gasket and rtv😅 Im always torn between nice weekend car and just going and thrashing on it at the track-its techinically under restoration right now

What are the chances you swap an REW into the RX8? would gain a ton of traffic from the people interested in trying it themselves I.E me with my RX8 lol

There's a lot of talk about hybrid renesis engines. If you blow your rx8 engine it might be worth considering as a challenge.
