Potentially could be a stuck iacv. It didn't run long enough to get into closed loop, so ecu wouldn't be looking at o2 sensor anyway. So in open loop the ecu is assuming you are getting enough air from iacv and providing that amount of fuel. Would explain rich condition and low idle.

When I unplug the iac the car dies right away. So its doing something. Albeit may not be functioning at full potential

Wrong vacuum line to map. Or a IAC valve. Hard to tell with out any data off that obd1 bs. But it runs good shit

Try unplugging the O2 sensor, it's been years but I think my FD ran reasonably well without it connected. It definitely didn't idle that rich at idle with the factory O2 disconnected, the wideband showed pretty lean like 16-18 AFR with the air pump running. I unplugged the factory O2 because I got a wideband gauge and wanted to get a feel for factory AFR's but didn't want to add a second bung in the exhaust. Installed a standalone ECU soon after that.

Also, on my RX7 (stock engine) it needs to be very rich for the exhaust to sound like that and blow black soot from the tailpipe. 10.5 AFR or richer, if I'm guessing. If disconnecting the O2 sensor doesn't help, try backprobing to measure the MAP sensor voltage, coolant sensor voltage, air temp sensor voltage. I don't remember the values off-hand, but I can dig up datalogs from my car to compare.

You could use an exhaust fan, need to get those fumes out and away from your lungs.

I have one in the back wall of the shop. It's super hard when the car is in backwards. Much easier if it's the opposite way haha. It was working hard!

Check the pipe on the Map sensor..

Yep, I'd be checking to see that the map sensor is getting vacuum. If it's seeing atmospheric pressure only it will be over fuelling badly. Who needs a bridge port for braps, just make your idle super rich 😆.

I'm having a similar problem whit my completely stock fd, also smoking because its running rich it even floods and stalls after a few minutes of idling. Haven't found the cause yet, I'm curious to see what caused that problem on this car.

Dont think that is an HKS v-mount. It looks like an HKS RS intake that the owner hacked up to fab this kit.
