I wish she’d find a better word than “careless.” Of course we care. But if we lose focus, we’re often unaware of it. I’ve had moments at work when I’m trying really hard to do everything right, but still miss details. Other times, I’m totally focused and detail-oriented. It’s weird.

I can still become careless when i don't feel like it's any use of me trying (i have adhd), or when i do something you have to be careful about and i loose my patience and follow an impulse. However i feel what you say and i can still care while looking like i'm careless. I think you have to accept that some parts of ADHD is just bad in certain scenarios instead of trying to talk around everything.

@Historian212 I agree with you. Those of us w ADHD may have so many competing thoughts and cares in our heads that we may forget to do something in the moment, even though we definitely care about doing that thing correctly. Words like “careless” can feel biting and dismissive to someone who is trying their best, often caring and trying even harder than most people, even if it may not look that way on the outside.

Yes me too. Those are surges and dopamine and serotonin, they fluctuate too much for us suffers of adhd. I don't care what anyone says ADHD is completely real and it's almost obvious to tell when somebody truly has it, and the medication obviously calms us down more than amps us up it's hard to fake that❤❤

That’s a big issue for us ADHD folks. So many “experts” work for drug companies, especially the psychiatrists. They claim that medication is a “must”- yet, a large percentage of us don’t tolerate meds well; I know someone who struggled to get the right med for him, and then it just stopped working. I think his brain adapted to it. He just gave up after that. Drugging us is not the answer, in many cases. They need to do better.

I’m in my 40’s and just recognizing my symptoms. I thought due to it being a fad in school in the 90’s that I truly believed was a negative thing or I could live without more medications. I have been unemployed for nearly 3 months and I’ve had the time to focus on things I want to do along with hyper focused studies. In addition I’m epileptic that is controlled. So yeah I learned 1 in 5 Epileptics have ADHD/A.D.D. I often want to escape American culture and go back to Asia Europe or some other locations to do what I love; which is traveling. Teachers don’t get paid in America so I won’t teach here. I don’t love Sales but since I’m about to start a new job I’m more concerned on changing my career and using the extra money to pay for another degree 📜 just to change my field of work. I have a tendency to talk in tangents and I’m working hard on it. My home is a mess and yet I have to move. I’m not interested in doing much until the last minute but I know it’s not an option or shouldn’t be. Garbage

@mikez.6309
@mikez.6309 2 жыл бұрын
@@specialk864 I will put it this way in terms of job maintainability. I see employment in this country (or state I'm living in at the very least), weather it be payroll or -voluntary- (which can be a gift to some of us "niech" protectors). As a right to work. The shit tends to hit the fan in terms of time management however when we tend to let go and work in ways or at a pace that's comfortable to us to maintain our sanity (as the bosses always advise us to do) when we're working with a lower-on-the-ladder OCD assistants who has that "I been here longer so you better do it my way" vibe, or a manager who uncomfortably throws that since of urgency or pressure upon us with no understanding at all. We have to work twice as hard to be presentable. But working a union job and you're usually in good hands. There's quite a few of them out there. Now Forrest Gump. Best movie there is. And recently I made a moto for myself "PlayLikeGump" Forrest's actions, no overthinking, no timidation, and fully resilient. Resilience is an important trait to build. It takes understanding a part of ourselves and realizing that no one else ever will. For 1/1000+ examples: with all the hard work and effort you put into getting through a shift and some boss gives you a hard time for it during or at the end remember that one of the best God given gifts is day. - Jim Stovall Always room to try harder. If you eventually get fired for it, hey, at least we had the experience, and our values and traits are the best staples to any forthcoming resume'. I'm back at work luckily.

Why is it called a non stimulant when there are warnings for raised heart rate and blood pressure? Why not take a stimulant?
@HeadDetectiveLassie
@HeadDetectiveLassie 2 жыл бұрын
Stimulants and non-stimulants are defined by what they actually do in the body, not the resulting side effects. Stimulants increase activity in the central nervous system (CNS), speed up messages (transmissions) sent around the body and mind, and may increase the production of certain neurotransmitters, like dopamine and norepinephrine, making people feel more alert and responsive. That can also result in increased heart rate as a side effect. This non-stimulant is a norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitor. It doesn't stimulate the CNS nor activate the production of norepinephrine, just stops it from being re-absorbed after being produced. I'm assuming the elevated blood pressure and heart rate would be a result of the higher levels of norepinephrine floating in the brain. Some people don't take stimulants because of pre-existing heart and blood pressure conditions, too many negative side effects outweighing the positives, no benefit or effect from stimulants (less than 20%, I believe), interactions between other prescribed medications, lack of accessibility, cost, etc.

Read the warnings and side effects. This stuff can cause or worsen some disorders. Suicidal thoughts or actions, increased high blood pressure, and worsening of bipolar are some side effects. If you choose to take this, you and a trusted close family member or your healthcare advocate need to stay in close contact with your doctor and tell him if you have any side effects.

My life is unmanagable. I just don't get to work on time daily! I was prescribed Vyvanse and I ended up jumping off that and other meds. It was right before Covid and I swear because of Covid, it’s so hard to get a psychiatrist. It’s been that long and then they change my health plan and they want you to see a therapist like I don’t know how many times it doesn’t matter. I have documentation like serious documentation about this I get SSI because of it and I’m working two jobs at a school full-time and son‘s father died and I just am overdoing it I’m 47 and I think I’m a screwup because of it and I I might as well be you know you know how they say alcoholism makes peoples lives unmanageable or this is just as bad, I’m sure because I looked at a notebook when I was in school at another facility and I saw the writing and how neat it was and at first glance I said who wrote that to myself I’m sorry I’m not putting quotations but yeah it was me and I started crying. I’m tired of the older you need to see a therapist all because they want more money like listen. I have tons of prescriptions proof of my diagnoses like what why can’t I just get a psychiatrist I don’t have time for a therapist and to be honest with you I don’t want to have a therapist and the reason for that is there’s nothing that they can do other than give me money to get out of situations I have never been able to get out of for the last 20 years so talking it out will never ever ever ever ever be the cure. What is the cure is the damn drug that the government doesn’t want people doing because it’s addictive for people that don’t have it or maybe people that do have it but I’m 47 and I had Concerta once a day and I was fine. Just needed one in the morning! She switch to Vyvanse and I could focus and I started growing a garden and like my interests came back in the summertime. I could leave the house and maybe go to the dollar store! I don’t do anything I’d rather sit in my room with my cat I hate going out, I have pressure to be somewhere on time and I don’t know what in the world is causing me to wake up very early and still not make it to work on time like I just can’t my mind wanders like right I can’t I always interrupt, and I try to tell people I’m not interrupting you when you try to confide in me about a horrible situation when I say this happen to me I’m trying to do is get you to be late, but have you realize you’re not alone but it seems rude so with that being said, I flunked my full-time school semester and I am ready to get human resources. Tell me that I suck because I’m always late and I was always late at Nordstrom rack and coming back from break. My mind will just wander and I just can’t take it anymore and I’m tired of it. There’s got to be psychiatrist that will look at my paperwork just die just do a damn psych social you’ll see you know I mean they will see I can’t explain and coffee used to have a coffee does nothing to fall asleep you know I just, I have to say that you know how they say it’s progressive illness with addiction. I have to say that at 47 years old. I cannot believe that I am worse than I was when I was seven years old and I stayed back because of comprehension and looking out the window in and not being able to read or write like things like that I mean they didn’t diagnose me back then with it but that’s what it was I saw some old report cards with the teachers used to write in cursive end it would be she’s looking out the window and you know she gets up offered Doub desk it starts playing like yeah that was when I was young but like I just can’t even begin to explain how much my life absolutely sucks and I’m going to try another new tropic I did it with thesis, and I thought it worked and guess what I was just calling myself. I really need these medication. I need this medication because I can’t stand my life anymore. I feel like such a loser.

I also use tianeptene which can be purchased but be very careful with upping the dose on tianeptene because at higher doses it hits those opiate receptors. These two can be purchased online very easily with a little research. I also am prescribed addy and Ritalin. The reason I have all these medications for my adhd is because I prefer to not up the dose when one seems to be not working anymore and switch the medication instead. I usually wait a week or two in between medication and also with tianeptene I keep the dose no more than ten mg at three times a day . I also found 4fmph online which is actually a strong version of Ritalin.

Over the years I must have been looking into literally over hundreds of articles of all the neurotypical disorders known and (put together) only see about 20 percent of those articles adult affiliated. But in society I don't feel like a 20%'er. I feel like a .0001%'er. But it doesn't even matter say if for instance it be just a group of 100 people in one spot with the disorder or the entire world's population, we'd still judge each other's faults.

DO NOT TAKE THESE! I switched to these a few years ago and after a year I switched back. Yes I didn’t have the jitters but if I missed just one day of medication I would have the worst migraine of my life the next day and be vomiting for hours. Until that medication I hadn’t thrown up in over 5 years, I never vomit even when I’m sick, and I’ve never had a migraine in my entire life until these meds too. Plus they didn’t do much for my adhd, I just wanted to warn others because I had a terrible experience with it.

I’m 66 and I was misdiagnosed as a child (in the 1960’s) and, as a result, my life took a shit all over me. Even as an adult, I was misdiagnosed with ptsd/depression…was prescribed Prozac which only dulled my emotions. Unfortunately, Quellbre causes 2 side effects that are almost always associated with it: incapacitating constipation and nausea. It’s very rough on a persons gi tract (universally) and, causes an increase in hypertension. As with most drugs, there’s a laundry list of significant side effects. So, if you already have bowel issues then this is not a good choice. Get properly screened/diagnosed and, get treatment because this NEVER goes away and it will turn your life into something you don’t want!!!
