You can tell by the color of the lights in the small slit windows in the taller corner section of the building that its a brightly lit interior stairwell.

Thank you for the video. Yes, it's a kind of voyeurism, but on the other hand, we all can see how the members have to fight the dangers. In other videos, JJ has refused to show victims and pointed the camera away, which I really appreciate. No sensationalism, but a good documentation of the work of the FDNY and of course, in many other videos, the FDs in New Jersey. Great work!

15:32: "Windows are bursting, the fire is spreading (...)." It's again one of these 19th century to 1930s vintage buildings with lots of wood inside, e.g. wooden floors. As it is well shown here, the colour of the fire (@ about 10:00) is changing to bright yellow, meaning that the fire is burning through ceilings and other parts of the building as well as a rise in temperature! Thanks God the person trapped inside was saved!

@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1, I have to second what Deborah posted. Your fire-ground coverage is some of the BEST I've ever seen. As a former FF/EMT, myself, getting to follow the fire-ground radio traffic is greatly appreciated, as well. Takes me back over half a lifetime, now... Another beautiful building cut down in size. Now two stories and not five, but they saved the cool corner/stairwell tower and very nice brownstone work. The property is still being finished, according to Google Earth Street View, and it's going to be a good looking property. When I hear the word victim I think of death, should I think of it that way, or perhaps casualty, but that doesn't sound right. Resident in need of urgent rescue or RNUR...naw. Victim's good I guess. Did the victim survive? Anyway, I noticed while watching this video, you were capturing a close up of the two firefighters on Tower Ladder One. Between 38:00 - 39:00 a strong back light was showing one of the firefighters shadow on the brick building and I found that interesting.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I have to agree with the other comments you do a great job explaining the situation! I can’t get over how calm everyone is being. I’ve been caught in a house fire. We would’ve all died if my brother hadn’t woke up and yelled fire!!! I realize firemen are trained to stay calm but that’s a primal fear !! It’s amazing how well they keep it from spreading especially in New York ! The building are on top of each other. I also have to admit I’m from the Deep South and y’all’s accents are just so different. I almost need a dictionary to follow along !! Rofl but I think I’m understanding it better. “ youz guyz “ are doing a very good job !

John, you know that I think you do an awesome job, but I was wondering if you would think about doing a couple of things when you write out where the fire is. Since I live in Chicago and I have never been to New York City. I really like going to google maps and seeing where the fire is at exactly. So how about putting the cross streets that the fire is by and also if possible my friend the address, and maybe the name of the building or storefront. I am looking at the map and trying to look for Mulberry, but I cannot find this school because of no extra info. I really do appreciate what you do, and if I can ever get outta this frigging nursing home, I will be doing the same thing here in Chicago. Thanks again John, God Bless you and may he keep you and all of the Men and Women of The New York City Fire Department SAFE FROM HARM.

WELL I WILL TRY TO DO BETTER BUT MOST OF MY POST HAVE AT LEAST THE STREET NAME IN THE TITLE OR DESCRIPTION. ALSO, THE ONES I PUT THE BOX NUMBER ON, IS WHERE THE ADDRESS OF THE FIRE MIGHT BE WITHIN A FEW BLOCKS OR SO. LASTLY, ANY FDNY BOX LOCATOR APP OR THE FDNY TWITTER ACCOUNT HAVE A LOT OF THAT INFO ON THEM TOO! THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND SUPPORT ALAWYAS! ;o)

John, please don't take what I said to heart. You are already doing a great job. It is just when I looked up Mulberry street on Google Maps it shows me that Mulberry is only so long. And I wanted to see if I could find that school either before or after the fire, by looking at the satellite photos.

Excellent coverage as always, and what an opening, Dramatic!! Was waiting for the opening titles when you drove to the scene. "Themajestirium1 Presents - A MissedDog Production - "The Fire Fighting Film Maker Rides out". I saw that the fire made the digital news of Associated Press. Look for fire-rages-in-building-in-heart-of-manhattans-chinatown. All my respect för your fantastic work and efforts. Best regards //J-C

I watch fire videos on YT from all over the country, and I'm sorry but NO ONE seems to be slower at getting water on a fire than NYFD. That's not a knock on the firefighters, that's a critique of the command structure. Pure NYC.
