Thanks for the info. I’ve got an on site in two weeks. Haven’t taken one in four years so I forgot a lot of the details of this portion. This was a great refresher. In the details of the brigade. I think I’m all right now. Thanks good job

I’m due to take my test soon but I’m having problems understanding the pipes systems and the color codes for them if u can make vid on it that would be awesome 😎
@dwaynemcfadden7314 жыл бұрын
Im due to take my test tomorrow, to give a basic breakdown standpipes are painted red, sprinklers are also painted red with the handle painted green, for combination sprinkler standpipe the handle is painted yellow and for non automatic piping it is painted sliver.

fire briadge members does it have to be director of security chief engineer and someone from property managment or could be just engineers and porters our cleaning mateince
@Greedonlife2 жыл бұрын
Usually, brigade members are building staff/employees. Wardens are usually tenets and their employees.
@bronxbomber30002 жыл бұрын
this confuses me a bit if let's say scenario I'm the only flsd in building and have an impairment.. how would I assist the risk of the building and area if I would need to stand by thr fcs at all times
@Greedonlife2 жыл бұрын
As the flsd, it is your responsibility to direct the evacuation. That means making the announcements and keeping in touch with FDNY and your fire safety brigade/wardens. It doesn’t mean that you physically go somewhere to do something.
@bronxbomber30002 жыл бұрын
@@Greedonlife copy on that thanks alot bc that part was throwing me off a bit I'm taking my onsite next month so this part was giving me a headache
@bronxbomber30002 жыл бұрын
@@Greedonlife quick qs sorry to bother but If I'm the only staffed member on a day an impairment occurs only flsd at that and I would become the impairment coordinator automatic yes so who would can I send out to check the status of the area etc could send a cleaning matience personal correct ?
@Greedonlife2 жыл бұрын
Correct. That person would be considered to be a part of the fire brigade.

Taking my class now any additional information is always welcome, I am curious what have been the benefits with being an FLSD done for you?
@Greedonlife5 жыл бұрын
The Hip Hop Renaissance Show Pacasso thanks for the comment. Becoming a FLSD is the best decision I’ve made in my career because it opened the door to engineering. Learning how buildings work is a big leg up on people who don’t have that experience. It’s easier to land union security guard jobs as well. It was basically the difference between being able to provide or not being able to.

Austin Barry I made two videos detailing what to expect on the test. If you need something explained differently, I can try to do that. I covered it pretty well, if you need help send a message but if you know the things I covered in the vid you will be fine.

I covered pretty much the entire test over the three videos I put together if after watching them you still have questions, feel free to send a message. I’m sorry but I don’t give out personal info over the internet.

How many times did you ready the book... I’m on my second time. Is that normal?
@Greedonlife5 жыл бұрын
If you are referring to the book that comes with the class, plenty of times. I suggest going to take the written exam as soon as possible after finishing the class. You want to go when everything is still fresh in your mind. If you fail at least you would have an idea what areas you need to tighten up.
@itzironlifemiguel1865 жыл бұрын
Greedonlife ok. So I just recently scheduled my self for the F-85 & F-89... Is there a particular order I should take them?
@Greedonlife5 жыл бұрын
The fire emergency is usually first. The non fire emergency test is pretty easy to be honest but they complement each other
@skyfall4295 жыл бұрын
How much did you're first FLSD job pay?
@Greedonlife5 жыл бұрын
skyfall429 $20/hr. That was in 2014. Right now you can look at about $25/hr as standard.
